I recently noticed a faint knock on my truck coming from the engine. Could it have been there the whole time possibly. Here is a short video where you can hear it in the first few seconds of the video. I do not hear it all the time either, it’s not the typewriter sound which I am familiar with.

I hear that sound from my engine occasionally. it was even present every so often in my 2015

That isn’t what I hear in the OPs video.
I heard three sounds
1. The sound of all things holy and amazing, the Ford 6.7 PowerStroke Diesel itself.
2. The glorious sound of diesel injectors spraying Jesus Juice at 30k PSI
2. The typewriter ticking as described in whiteface ford video.
Perfectly normal. That’s “typewriter” tick. My truck does it and I would assume 99% of 6.7s on here do as well.
I’m talking about the 17ish injector knocks.
Had to listen to the audio again to hear the typewriter. After having a 6.7 for so long I’ve tuned it out.

Thanks for understanding the sound I was referring too. I’ve had quite a few 6.7s but usually deleted them early on which drowned out allot of noises I am not use to. To my understanding it’s how the injectors operate now a days which you also stated.

Pretty normal. You’ll know when it’s a bad fuel knock. It’ll be like a hammer and the MIL will light up.
