5th Wheel towing with 2022 F250 Tremor

As others have said there’s no reason at all you couldn’t add factory 5th-wheel prep to your 22 250. Mine didn’t come with it either. Called some local dealers though and they were have a hard time sourcing it at time when I needed it this last spring. I was able to find it on EBay from Fairway ford for $700 shipped at time (looks like price has gone up)… I called around some installers and got quotes but lots of shops wanted 750-1k for install labor. Wasn’t willing to pay that, and there really is nothing that complicated about it. If you can turn a torque wrench and have a couple buddies/neighbors around to help you lift the bed away from frame it’s very doable, and lots of videos on it walking through process. I did it in an afternoon, didn’t need any special lift for bed or anything, just couple guys on each side easily lifted bed away and set it aside while bolted things up.

As to 5th wheel pulling, I’m personally pulling 36’ 5er, with 6.7l, and also have the heavy duty tow package. I did also put airbags on it that i run at very moderate pressure when towing as there’s very minimal squat even without them. I pulled this setup all the way to east-coast and back to phoenix over the summer with zero issues.

I borrowed a buddies slider hitch initially, but then quickly moved to Andersen Ultimate system shown and is what I used pulling cross-country. With the offset of that hitch and angle of nose on my 5er i can reach about 85-degrees. Never came close to that or worried about contact with truck.

Just like @#1Hoosuer my 2022 F350 was going to be delayed unless I punted on the 5th wheel prep package. I ended up going with a B&W Gooseneck kit and swapped my Grand Designs 350H 38'9" 5th wheel for a gooseneck. It takes up no bed space when I disconnect. The F350 will pull 22,000 lbs. with a gooseneck. The 5th wheel kit is rated at 19k for the '21-'22 models. My trailer loaded is rated at 18k lbs. With a full tank of water and a 4 seat RZR inside plus all the other schtuff, it's likely close to 18k lbs.

I bought the B&W 4 inch hitch extender referenced on these forums to move things back another 4. But, I still cannot do 90 degrees.

Thank you for the reply! I've been away for a week putting all of this together. Since my post.. I had the bed sprayed, Reese Elite Puck system installed ($1938.00 parts and labor for hitch), purchased the coach, 2023 Keystone Avalanche 312rs (New from dealer, total loss for the dealer, win for us!) I ordered the Pullrite Superglide auto sliding hitch and will take delivery this Saturday! I installed my air compressor today from my old truck and bags will go on sometime between now and delivery (once I have time)

The ford fifth wheel requires the prep package to mount, maybe this was the confusion around it not being compatible with your truck?

Ordered and received my 22 Platinum Tremor with the factory prep package. Purchased the gooseneck ball with pass points. I don't currently have any need for a fifth wheel plate, but it was also offered to me as an accessory.
