Uptop Overland Bedrack based build

Hey fellas,

New member here, been quietly lurking and getting ideas for my 2021 Ford F250 Super Duty Tremor...

I did alot of research and finally settled on an Uptop Overland Bed rack. I thought I'd share the pictures with y'all for anyone else looking for ideas. I'm VERY happy with the end result, and this rack will suit my needs perfectly. I wanted a rack that would still allow use of my OPEN bed (no tonneau cover wanted) and also allow me to mount the various accessories I wanted ( I do alot of beach camping/surf fishing) such as water tanks, canopy, and roof top tent. But, I also wanted one that would keep the overall height of the tremor the same (if the truck cab fits, so will the rack and mounted accessories). The rack height is 19" and still leaves me 7" for a clamshell style tent (they're 6-7" closed). Feel free to ask questions and enjoy the pics (before and after)!

Looks good, I just mentioned these guys in another thread this AM. Is this the full height? I remember seeing a mid and full height on their website

Yes this is the full height for the Truss AFS. Its 19"... They have a few other models with other heights

Thanks for sharing the photos. Keep us posted as your start mounting accessories. What do the top of the cross bars look like? Just curious if the mid height version of this rack would be a good for mounting bikes.

Here's some updated pics. I've mounted on OVS 270 awning (custom welded brackets and powder coated), aluminum rod holders (custom welded angles and powder coated), and some rotopax water cans with deluxe mounts... Slowly adding more- I tend to be hyper analyzing every decision. I figure "buy once, cry once" and I plan on owning this truck until it dies...

Quality? price? Functionally? Capabilities? I'm confused by what your asking exactly... I considered the putco but it wasn't tall enough or heavy duty enough for my needs.

What's the difference in height? The Putco is pretty heavy duty and thought it allowed for heavy roof top tents.

This one is 19" tall, they offer several other heights. It also allows for roof top tents. That's the next decision I have to make...

I order my tremor a week ago and hunt a lot so I’ve been considering this kind of setup and the market seems completely flooded with options. The UpTop has floated to the top but is it rickety? Do you feel like it’ll hold 500 or more lbs?

Absolutely will hold it. Isn't rickety at all. See my next posting, I finally added a RTT.

Finally chose a RTT. I went with the FSR Adventure GS 55". It fits my needs and looks/works great on the truck.


I also finally decided on a water solution- Tractor Supply sells agricultural 12v sprayers. Given my outings can last 2-4 days, I wanted enough fresh water for drinking, washing, etc., So I got the 40 gallon sprayer tank, and changed some hose fittings... And voila. Only complaint? The tank takes up some bed space, but after measuring and considering the usage of the lost space (forward near the cab wall), I never put anything up there anyway because I couldn't reach it!
