Mine ('22) changed after an update as well last year, I think.
I presume it is for the reason Avslash suggests. Some people riding with me who'd never been in a 360 cam before tended to (somehow) actually think it was an live overhead view with no blind spots... so I can see some knuckleheads taking the picture too literally and assuming they had more exact clearance around the corners than the camera views actually provide. I'm sure someone hit something and tried to sue Ford, so now they've blacked out the camera blind spots.
Of course, the most astute observers figured it out themselves after noting the absence of the pano roof on the image, but sadly the world is not reliably full of astute observers.
