Howdy Folks! The wife and I just got back from our first real road-trip in the TREMOR since taking delivery in early March, and I thought I'd share a little...

I've got 3300+ miles on it now, having just put about 900 on in 4 days. The trip included a little freeway, a lot of highway, and quite a bit of gravel and dirt roads and trails. First of all, this thing is comfortable, I don't care what anybody thinks. I've had 2 back surgeries by age 31, and a total hip replacement by 39. I bought this truck because I needed one vehicle that does everything I need IN COMFORT, and man this truck nails it! On day two we did about 150 miles of lonely highway and about 80 miles of gravel/dirt roads with some trail crawling, and when I got out I was fine! No sore back! No numb legs!

It's a work truck, with off road springs... It's a little bouncy on mountain highways. I didn't have any weight in the back either. But the trade-off is the off-highway benefit. On washboard gravel roads the truck smoothed out real nicely right at about 40 mph. Of course you have to be paying damn good attention, looking ahead. The truck would drift some in the loose gravel, but was predictable and easy to manage. My wife remained relaxed. ;) In the rougher and slower going trail sections, the suspension absorbed the bumps real nice. I didn't get into anything that required much articulation or rock crawling, but this thing is ready when I am.

Day 3 we headed into high elevation to explore some old mines. But alas, we got stopped short by snow drifts. In 4 low, I nosed her into the first deep drift. She wanted me to keep going, and if Id've made a few attempts at it, I'm sure I could have gotten through. But we hadn't seen a soul, and there were more drifts around the corner, so I backed her out and turned around. Plan B... we picked what appeared to be a historic looking campsite on the map, and headed down into a canyon for some metal detecting. Almost to our destination we were stopped short by a big old tree fallen across the road. I didn't pack a chainsaw (dumbass). But I've got a winch! "Let's try out the winch!" It was a bad angle, and I didn't have rigging (dumbass). Oh well, "get er' done" right!!? I hooked up and screwed the winch down tight. Everything was straining, the truck was moving, the tree moved some but didn't break free. Screw it, I backed off the tension, got in the truck, put'er in 4 low, locked the rear diff, and pulled that sombitch right out of the way without even spinning a wheel! Just what you'd expect from an F250!

Trail control is THE BOMB. From 1mph to 20mph, suit your needs. I was using it just to cruise gravel/dirt roads. And for the real slow speed stuff, what a treat not to have to so skillfully operate the throttle. Relax the leg, ride in comfort as you crawl through the rough stuff! Yeah man, I'm digging some of this high tech shit.

Super dusty already this year. But the interior of the truck remained clean while blasting the gravel roads. Climate control works awesome and helps keep the dust out.

The 6.7 is amazing. The passing power is awesome, 90 mph uphill, RIGHT NOW. And I averaged 17.3 mpg even with all the gravel roads and trail crawling. Now just under half-tank on the DEF. It's never actually told me it was doing a re-gen, but sometimes it's definitely burning the soot judging by the smell. The best part about the 6.7? - It's quiet! OK let me get that right, the best part is the WIFE LOVES IT TOO! We're already thinking about our next road trip. (y)
