Did you order you’re 450? If so how long did it take?
I ordered mid October, and have had it since the beginning of February

Ok I'm following this thread as I have a 2025 F350 Tremor. I removed the tailgate as I just installed an OEV camper on the back. Obviously I got the error message so I went to the dealer and grabbed the delete kit. Then I booked an appointment for the re-flash and obviously auto mirrors not closing. After then told me I need to put the tailgate back on to flash correctly, Im like what. You cannot fix without the tailgate back on? Like Im going to take off the OEV camper to fix this is issue. So my question do you know can this issue be solved without putting the tailgate back on? Or is the tech being lazy?

There is no flashing, there are three wires added to one of the wire loom jumper blocks and then they are tied together. It’s a simple fix, and everything corrects after it’s done. It doesn’t need the tailgate on. Jumper block C4003 pins are missing in 11, 13, and 14. Add pins and wire together for ground.

Seriously, wow that is great. Well I obviously have the delete wiring harness installed. Do you have the link to that thread? Regardless thank you for that information:)

Just take the note from my last post to the tech. I just put my tailgate back on and this is my modified harness. This pic shows where the three wires go. They’re tied together only, and do not go through to the other block. The tech just taped together with the other wires.

Ok Thank You :)

When i picked up my new 25 mid January first thing I looked for was the tailgate delete kit in the glove box and there wasn't one so my salesman went and found one in a new 24 and gave it to me, mine was the first 25 they had seen. And of course it didn't work and had all the issues everyone is having. So i took it in to let them figure it out and the tech said i needed a kit for a 25 and had them order it and when it came in with my name and vin number on it was exactly the same as the 24 kit that did not work. Took it in this morning with the new kit expecting to hear the same bla bla that Ford needs to come up with a fix. Got a call couple hours later my truck was done and all good. My service adviser told me beforehand he had faith his tech could fix it. And they did, everything works correct, back up sensors, guide lines mirrors fold in no more buzzers telling me my sensors are blocked. everything works like before i removed the tailgate. What a pleasant surprise .He told me the tech had to get some special password to log into fords engineering site where he found the software to reprogram 4-5 modules, he said it was a lot of reprogramming. So there is a way the service techs can do it and im happy this is over. Good luck to everyone else .
So did Ford charge you for this or was it included in the tailgate kit delete?

2026 F350 and still the same issues, but came up with a quick fix.

Anyone following the tailgate threads, I came up with a 5-10 minute fix depending on mechanical ability and if you can get 2 tailgate delete kits from your dealer or a 2nd from a nearby dealer. They are free.

Use one harness to get 3 sacrificial female pins and wires, just cut the harness in half. Take apart connector and pull 3 pins. Add the pins to the harness you are going to use, strip the ends, twist together, heat shrink and tape flat to harness. Done!

Thanks to everyone on the other 24' Tailgate thread that figured out the 3 pins.

With the sacrificial harness you'll have 9 extra female pins to give to your friends. PM me if you'd like some mailed. I'm in the Denver metro area for anyone out here that needs help.

Edit: 3 more in the mail, 3 left. I also have another dealership nearby I could go order a harness from and have next day.

For those wanting to do the physical 3-wire solution that @martialman mentions above and wants background, the big '24 tailgate thread is a good read (though we get off on backup cameras, too). If you want to skip the first five pages of trying to figure it out, go directly to post #98 here https://www.fordtremor.com/threads/24-owners-who-removed-tailgate.18096/page-5#post-403132 where @timothymeyer finds a dealership with a tech with the will to figure out the jumper.

Programming to resolve would be fine for those keeping tailgate off permanently, but for those putting camper on and off seasonally, the three-wire fix, for the tailgate delete harness, is the way to go. Otherwise you'll need to visit the dealership twice a year and pay for a reprogram (or do it yourself twice a year). You are swapping the tailgate harness anyway, in that case, so three wire fix makes more sense for that situation.

So I will add to this thread the following: Yes my 1st visit to service I got the "no you need to put the tailgate back on". I left a little frustrated thinking seriously. So I went on to ChatGPT to input my problem and it came up with a solution and ultimately guided me here. I rebooked the appointment with a PDF handout to give the tech on what to do. After I got the truck back and everything is working as it should, sensors and auto fold mirrors working. Im going to include the PDF so anyone else can download and give to the tech. PS 2 thumbs up to this forum :)
