2024 F-350 Lariat Ultimate Tremor matched with 2007 Airstream Classic 31

We just completed a maiden towing voyage with our new to us 2024 Ford F-350 Tremor with 6.7l Powerstroke from VA to upstate New York. Tires are 37” (45 psi front, 55 psi rear). Trip average was 14 mpg on interstate (averaging 67 mph) and 12.5 mpg overall. The Airstream is a 31 Classic with 1,050 lb tongue weight. Although I initially was hoping to find a. 7.3l gasser, I can’t be more pleased with the PowerStroke performance, especially on grades.

Those are pretty low pressures for that load. Mileage would likely improve if you went 55 front and 65 rear while towing the Airstream. If I were you I would get the rig weighed fully loaded for camping at your nearest CAT Scale to see where you’re at on each axle.

Well if that's the case my suggestion of 65psi rear would still be within the tire's limits and he would likely get better mileage. And a trip across the CAT scale would reveal where he stands on his tire loads. He knows the rest of the details and would adjust accordingly. His focus was on mileage and I was suggesting how he could make improvements.

All in all I love the rig @Lapadog shared with us. It's a really nice setup and I hope enjoys exploring many miles down the road.

Yeah, it was more of an inquiry. I run 70-75 on the rears with the stock duratracs when pulling the TT but am about to be on 37s with 65 max psi. I did do 80 rear to begin with but it was a little rougher and I was getting more wear in the center of the tire (perceived anyway).
Just want these new tires to last at least as long as the duratracs which probably have more miles left on them than I think. 47k on them now

That's a good looking 250k setup! I agree, might air up the tires 5-10psi. I run 37's at 45/40 for around town ti give ride comfort but if I was towing I'd bumper that up.

Awesome setup all around for sure!!! Bet that was a good trip this time of year.

Fellas he has a 2007 Airstream which could be said to be a piece of solid AS quality construction inside and out.
I'd HIGHLY suggest against the newer stuff as the brand new things I've seen aren't AS quality of the old days.

The tire pressures are based on a chalk test. Even at 55 psi rear on my Toyo ATIIIs I’m slightly overinflated. Front is fine.
