Does anyone have a photo/photos of the 2023 or newer tremor m235 front differential with the cover removed ? Does it have clutch plates or what type of limited slip as advertised by Ford, do they come with ?

Would love to see a PHOTO of M235 with. I have a 23 and a 24 ,both F350 Tremors , both donot have any type of front limited slip or locking differential. My 25 is a long bed platinum. I just did a dana 60 front swap last month so i could have a detroit locker

if you have the tremor package you have a limited slip front diff that when you feather the break it acts locked. the rear diff has an electronic locker you manually activate.

if you don't have these features you don't have a Tremor????

unless you removed them?

Thats what I hear. I also hear of all these limited slip front differentials. but have yet to actually see a photo of one or have one in my m235 front Tremor optioned trucks. Was hoping for a photo from someone in group.

The clutch plates are behind the side gears, not out in the open where you can see them. Might be tough to find a photo that shows the clutches but the schematics can be found online.

It’s a Dana Spicer Trac-Lok. If you bought a Tremor, you either have it or you got a rare factory error. Very unlikely you got two error trucks.

There are a few diff oil change threads. Maybe a good photo in one of those.

I guess the question at this point is how do you know you don’t have a LSD in either of your Tremors?

bigger question

are they tremors?

why would you buy a tremor fleet truck?

Very familiar with differentials etc. After getting stuck more than once on roadside.I hooked up to a tree and another truck locked in 4wd and see what I have. Then I pulled cover to find open differentials in 2 of my tremors. As far as fleet trucks go , i can purchase any truck I want for myself Sir

Not questioning your experience but how do you know they were open carriers just by looking at them when the clutches are hidden in the carrier?

Need to engage brakes to get them to really work as designed. This is written into the programming in the off-road drive modes if I remember right.

I did read that.I know there is a difference in the wiring going to both front and rear axles compared to prior years.
I am currently building another dana 60 front with a detroit locker for my 23 Tremor. When I remove front axle assembly, I will take apart the complete differential and post .Thank you

@McE is correct. It's hard to tell just by looking at them.
Here's a thread with a pic. It's of a 22 Tremor with LSD.
It looks like it's open, but my pic later in the thread shows the clutches behind the spider gears.

I fully understand where the clutch plates are. Your photo is of a dana 60 front used in 2022. I am wanting to see a m235 front differential , they for sure do not operate the same. I will tear mine apart later this coming week after dana 60 swap

Please excuse my fellow Tremorites. They haven't opened as many front ends as I have, so here you go!

Now, what's a front diff?

How I verified on my was locking one hub and spinning the front drive shaft. I got the initial bite or clunk like a locker and with more force I could push through but still had significant resistance. On my previous trucks with e diff or open once you had momentum spinning there was virtually no friction. Or you couldn’t spin it at all after the initial 1/8-1/4 rotation. (Open versus locked.)

That being said, it’s a Trak-lok. It’s not a Torsen like the new F-150s and it’s not a locker. I have been hoping for aftermarket but your swap gives me hope as used axles can generally be sourced reasonably priced and nothing wrong with the bigger diff. And even option is available for the 35 spline Super 60.

I appreciate every ones comments etc. I just want to see how the operation of the lsd on trucks with the m235 works etc, the way ford describes it in relation to physical parts in carrier

As far as dana 60 front swap goes , 2017 and newer f250 thru f550 housing and axle shafts are main parts that are a simple swap.
