2020 Tremor Vibration Update - Advice on how to do a buyback or lemon law?

I agree totally, all will be good. Actually, I am more worried about my current 2004 F-150 making it till the Tremor comes in. Lots of things going wrong with it. Trying to limp it along without spending a lot of money.

So in general how prevalent would you say this issue is? I shouldn't have read this topic, lol. I put in my Tremor order a couple of weeks ago (2022 7.3). One more thing to worry about for the next 4 months :(
I'm looking to get a buyback and will buy another F-250 if that makes you feel any better. Just a lemon, not representative of the truck in general IMO.

Ford made over 750,000 F-series trucks in the US alone last year, there are bound to be problems here and there. Also remember that everyone that has no problems does not rush to a forum and tell everyone about their lack of issues, people with problems are far more likely to post about it. While it sucks that a small number of people have issues with their vehicles, these are pretty complex machines assembled in mass by people that make mistakes sometimes.

I have not had any problems with mine, at just over 11k miles its been great. I would not loose any sleep at night over your pending order.

To the OP, I hope your dealer stands up and does the right thing and takes care of you. I have read about some dealers fighting tooth and nail against the vehicle owner, and others being proactive taking care of their customers. How your experience goes depends completely how the dealer chooses to handle it.
Thanks! My dealer has been good, in the sense they always have a free truck for me to drive when I drop mine off, always with less than 300 miles on them somehow. On the flip side, they don't really come up with their own hypothesis on whats wrong, so there's there. One of their customer people did offer to assist in filing the buyback, so at least they engaged on it.

Either way, I did file a claim with Ford a couple days ago and it was a super easy phone call, on the phone with someone within 60 seconds. The guy that helps file was great, so the process has gone smooth so far. Of course next steps will tell the difference. We shall see. Should hear back from them by next week, they said 7-10 business days for the case to be taken on by their buyback group. I'm sure this is just the start.. will be really great if they just respond with a yes and an offer. Its been issues since day one, everything has been done by the same dealer, everything is documented - and the dealer has failed to fix the issue after 3 visits and multiple months without the truck. Pretty classic buy back case IMO. Fingers crossed.

So Ford had approved a buyback. Either a refund, or a replacement. Need to discuss with them the details of each, but this starts the process to finally getting a truck that works as expected.

Now the question is what should I get?

Current truck is a 7.3, XLT, Tremor.

Thinking I'm going to go ahead and get the 6.7, Grey, but not sure if I'm going to go with a Tremor this time or not.

I would definitely get a 6.7 (I might be biased though  ). IMO a diesel holds its value and the power/torque/fuel economy is all just a bonus. USED diesels in my area are listed for MORE than their original sticker price. A non Tremor with more of an AT tire should ride smoother and "tighter". If your priority is a smooth ride and you don't anticipate needing the "offroad" features the Tremor gives you, I would steer away from the Tremor. If you want the limited slip front end and the 35" knobby tires get the Tremor.

I'm at about 2,500 miles and mine is still smooth BUT I can already feel/hear the tires start to hum and they will only get worse from here. I have been running MT's on all my trucks since 2004 and I like my trucks to ride like trucks, so the hum and the ride doesn't bother me.

I would strongly recommend taking a few different trucks for a ride in the various trim packages to see how they feel/ride. The problem will be finding them...

Regardless of what you choose to go with, glad they worked with you without a big hassle and took care of it.

They replaced a couple modules and checked wires, but a new PCM and Ford pass module is what finally got everything working again. They claimed to of found water intrusion but the only water my truck had seen is from a car wash so a little worrisome that would create water intrusion. I’m still contemplating a 2022 but right now just want to get through the summer and see how the 2022 trucks/production goes. I honestly planned to keep this truck long term but just this experience has me not too comfortable with that right now.
Ford markets the tremor at 33 inch water fording ability and off-road use so you would think it shouldn’t be so sensitive to water. Hope they make it right for you.

Obviously there aren't any damn trucks anywhere. I'm willing to go out of state to buy one. I found one that fits what I'm looking for and the dealership literally said I can't even put a deposit down and wait for Ford to finish my paperwork.

Unless I pay full price they aren't holding it. WTF

Just a quick update. I have finally received the offer from Ford on a repurchase.

Since I live in Florida, we have pretty great lemon laws. Ford is paying off my loan, covering all of the upgrades that I made, and paying me back for the interest I paid on the loan. The are deducting "usage" from it, but since I filed at 2000 miles, the usage cost is only about $900. In the end, I am getting out of my truck for about $1000 more than what I paid for it, because they are paying me for the interest on the loan.

I've locked in a replacement in Alabama and I'm hoping to surrender my truck and pick up the new one on Saturday.

New Truck will be a 2021 F250, Tremor, 6.7, Star White Metallic, Lariat, Lariat Ultimate, Black Appearance, 10800# GVWR package, High Capacity Trailer Tow , with Power Moonroof.

Hoping this one doens't have issues.. and I can restart all of the fun I was having with mods on my current truck!

I went through a buy back in 2019. The crappy part was I had to buy another truck without a trade to off set the tax. I had to pay tax on the full $70,000 which sucked.

edit: Additional info:
I did however file a form with New York State and got my tax back from when I bought the one the was purchased back.

Under Florida lemon law, the original sales tax paid whe I bought the truck was paid back in the deal. In the end, I guess that does mean that I don't benefit from the trade in I did when I bought the truck I'm surrendering, so I get about 1/2 of it back. Since they paid back all my interest paid on the loan for 6 months it probably works out pretty damn close to even.

They usually do buy it back if it looks like they would lose the lemon law case. This way they can resell it. If it was deemed a lemon they are stuck with it.
