Camper remounted yesterday and happy that my bike rack swing arm project works as intended. It just clears to open all the way without the bike or rack hitting the camper or flatbed (I had to remove the inner bike tray from the rack though) and allows the rear drawer to open unobstructed...
I have had no issues after doing this mod. Regarding the batteries, I did get both of mine replaced under warranty a few months ago. The factory batteries are garbage from what I read and from my personal experience.
Thanks for the kind words. You are correct on how far it will open. When the camper is on I'll have to use my hitch extension to A) keep the bike handle bars from hitting the camper and B) swing it far enough open to allow me to open the rear flatbed drawer where I keep my step ladder and...
Although it has nothing to do directly with the camper, thought I'd share a few photos of a swing arm I just fabricated for my bike rack. I'll need to use an extension with the camper mounted and will only be able to use the outer most tray (I think) for my bike (not a problem as my wife really...

My SMB van I just got rid of had the same dual shock cord setup that worked well. Yes, I was never too impressed with the top on my van but it did hold together (more or less) for my 17 years of ownership with heavy use.
You are a genius! I tried that when I just closed it up at the shop and that worked like a champ. I didn't think it would since I have multiple layers of fabric that are not connected front and rear of the top, but it sucked it all in great. Thanks!
The two 30lb magnets seem to be totally adequate so far. Like I said, this entire trip which included a lot of washboard driving and it didn't move at all.
I'm using a couple of the 55lb ones to try to hold the multiple layers of fabric together on the pop top to keep the outer layer from...
