Rigger's Rapid Red 2021 Tremor

Monday, we went to Montana, and picked up our new travel trailer. Grand Design 312BHTS. Largest trailer I ever pulled. Two hour drive home, half of it in some pretty decent rain. Amazed at the snort in this 6.7 diesel. I actually could accelerate going up some pretty gnarly hills. And I like these large telescoping side view mirrors.

My previous travel trailer was slightly shorter, not as heavy, and I was pulling it with my 2014 Tundra. The Tremor is clearly a far superior tow vehicle: faster, stronger, more competent.

Down side: The fuel message "## miles to empty" reported incorrect information. I was using fuel faster that it could re-calculate and re-adjust and the information was pretty much useless, other than being amusing.

(Side bar: Not naming names, but are all RV dealers as clueless as the one we went to? Yeesh - these guys made a lot of mistakes. I ended up almost feeling sorry for them. Really glad that that day is over. Maybe that's a topic for it's own thread.)

My truck has the windshield recall. Gonna go in on the 17th. It's a 2 day process. Really disgusted with Ford about this one. Hate the thought of a brand new truck needing the windshield replaced. It is what it is, I guess. I quizzed them about it, and the guy used the phrase "I'll be honest with you" about 5 times. So there's some comfort in that, right? Right. While some may say honesty is best policy, I'd say I'd have preferred an honest windshield install the first time around.

I think RV salesmen are the ones that don't make the cut in the Auto dealerships. I know that's a broad generalization but I've dealt with plenty that had no idea what they were selling or talking about, and they are usually clueless regarding towing, weights, capacities etc. They'll get you killed if you take their advice.

Wow, sorry to hear about your windshield. That sucks.

When any salesman or dealer starts using the phrase "I'll be honest with you", it makes me feel like honesty only happens when they need it to save face. I expect when a person's lips are moving honesty is what I'm hearing.

I don’t think it’s replacing the windshield -
Had mine done when I put a down payment on it - dealer sent it to an auto glass shop - they pull the windshield and reset it with proper adhesive.

Received the Dee Zee soft drop kit. Ten minute install. That T50 tailgate cable bolt is tight. Had to impact tool on it to loosen it.

That's a bar so low I'm not sure there's any appreciable airspace between it and the ground.

Sales of anything in the consumer realm (as opposed to business) is sweeping up the dirt on the floor of the employment pool.

Gonna vent here. Really pissed off at myself for buying the oil change package from the dealer. I been reading on these boards about the bad luck some of you have had with dealership work and have decided that I probably won't use the dealer for oil changes. I wish I had been more careful on purchase day.

Have had a few more opportunities to drive the Tremor. I like it. I had terrible buyers remorse the first week I owned it. But I worked thru it. I am now glad I have it.

Problems? I got the drag link clunk and the smelly console. Also I am on the windshield recall list.

I love the snarl of the engine and the neck snapping acceleration. And it is fast! And strong! And the lines of the body are rugged and they shout “TRUCK!!”

And the color? Rapid Red! Oh yeah! Love love love it!

I am studying Carli, Method, and 37’s these days . . . . . pardon me . . . . “Honey! How much do we have in joint checking?”

How much that soft drop kit cost you? I was thinking about installing this on my 2022MY ordered tremor.

Generally speaking, when someone has to specify that they're being honest it's a pretty good indicator that they have been less than so in the rest of their conversation.

You don't have to tell me you're being honest with me because that's my default assumption (until I'm sure you're blowing smoke). If you're clarifying that now you're being honest, I'm going to assume the rest of what you told me was bullshit and this process is now going to take infinitely longer because I have to validate everything you've said.

I ordered my Carli kit from Top Tier Suspension. Good folks, and fast shipping.

I measured the distance from the garage floor to the fender at each tire:

Right front: 41.75"
Left Front" 41.25"
Rears: Both 45"

I'll see what develops.

I dropped it off at lunch. My wrench man said it's all in except for the brake lines and the alignment.
