2013 F-350 Platinum crew cab
Hi guys, I currently own a 2013 F-350 Platinum Crew Cab with 224,000 miles. Fantastic truck! I have a 8-foot bed and I need that bed as I pull a 40’ toy hauler and a 25’ flatbed. Might be time for a new truck. I would buy a new one today if I could get a Super Duty with Tremor package and a 8-foot bed. I see that I am not the only one on here who would like this setup. Does anyone know if a 8-foot bed on a Tremor is coming??

Doubt it. The tremor package is designed as a factory offroad package. It's already pretty long and difficult to maneuver in tight offroad trails.

You don't need an 8 foot bed to haul a fifthwheel or goose neck. I pull a 45ft toy hauler with my Tremor with no issues. I do have a slider hitch for tight backing but in most situations it's not even needed.

Thank you! I know that you are correct about not HAVING to have a 8-foot bed. I could use the slider hitch. But to be honest, I like the bigger bed. Just a preference. Most (not all) trucks never see the true off-road trails. I’d be happy with the off-road package for on-road use.

Best bet is to get the normal 8ft, and then outfit it yourself with whatever off-road capability you want, whether that’s suspension upgrades, lockers, etc just do whatever you want.

The 8' bed and Tremor options have been mutually exclusive from day one. That said, getting an 8' FX4 package will give you near enough the tremor package you'd be hard pressed to notice. Really only missing the front limited slip. Plus, the FX4 option keeps the higher tow capacity ratings.

Swap the front air dam and throw on second hand tremor wheels and bobs your uncle.

Does anyone know approximately how much of a lift would equal what the Tremor comes with?? 2”? 3”?

I think factory is 2”? But aftermarket, I’d just go with a 3” which i think is fairly common

Thank you, sir. I think you are correct about 3” aftermarket.
One more question, please. I am not nearly as mechanical or as educated about this as you guys.
Could I pull my 40’ 5th wheel toy hauler with a 3” lifted truck?? I know I can pull it. But will the trailer be level with a 3” lift?? I know I could also lift the trailer and do all that. But again, I am far from an expert on this. Could I pull a normal 5th wheel trailer level with a 3” lifted Super Duty?

I can’t help you there. But I’m sure you can see pics on here of lots of guys towing their 5th wheels with Tremors

The lift from suspension is actually small, 1-1.5" front, and about 1" rear, the taller tires make up the rest of the height difference. You'll be working with about 2.5" of rake from the factory.

Good point. I forget the tires were involved in the overall height increase

For the suspension the Tremor has 1" on the stock rear blocks, and somewhere close to 1-2" on the front springs.

Save your money on the FX4 package. You can order the skid plates separately and can get hill descent by adding a $30 switch and a FORScan change. Then buy some better aftermarket shocks.

That was the way to go up until 2022 but I've heard 23/24 no longer have the skid plates as a stand alone option.

Well it’s probably best to go aftermarket anyway if you want real protection :)

Yes you can tow it. However, the factory rake is meant to be cancelled by a trailer. When you lift the front (cancel the rake) you will add rake but toward the back (carolina rake). If you plan to tow a 5th (or GN) I'd strongly advise air bags. Just get the 5,000 lb. ones. Honestly, with the factory suspension probably even the 2,500 lb. ones since that's the high end of most pin weights anyway.
