Got my brand new wheels scratched by incompetent Road Force balancing shop; every single one and hub cap.. Really disappointed. Have a meeting with manager Friday, as he has been on vacation. Not sure if I should sell and start over from fresh again. I don't have the time to deal or even want them refinished.

I did vet the shop before hand, as they had good reviews and were listed as offering Road Force Elite balancing on Hunter's website.

That's horrible. Demand a refund and a refinish!
 
Ouch! I've gotten a scratch or two from the dolts at Discount in the past but that's next level. I'd be pretty butt hurt if those were my wheels too. Best of luck in dealing with the manager, I hope you get the outcome you want.
 
Is it a possibility to go through insurance as a last resort? Hate the idea of premium going up though.

I would think the tire shop should have to make a claim on their insurance if they don't want to come out of pocket. Pretty sure it would be better for them to just handle it without a claim.
 
They should easily replace the wheel.
 
This is why we can't have nice things.

I am super anal about wheels (mostly on my cars) when mounting and it's always an anxiety provoking appointment. I have had similar experiences with techs that just do not care, and even "tipped" one over on it's face resulting in scratches (BMW wheel) and forgot to mention it until I called and asked why my newly powder coated wheel looked so poor.

I am sorry, man. What I have found is that managers are 100% helpful and WILL offer to fix or reimburse. It's just sucks as it takes time and that mental aspect of knowing you have a "problem" you cannot/should not fix on your own. This reminds me of the hood issue you had post delivery - I hate to say it, but I seem to have that luck often too.

Have them pay to get them powder coated. They will be even more durable than OEM finish

I don’t have the time for that. Mentioned in first post.
 
It aggravates me as I had an upcoming project to install the Bronco Raptor center caps into the hub caps.

The waiting to finish a cool project continues.

They are painted wheels, refinishing them to me would be re-painted. Powder coated is far superior, but to your point if you don’t have time not an option for you.
 
My concern is that you'd then have to get the tires remounted onto the new rims and then balanced again... would they then scratch the replacement (or even re-painted) rims?

My exact concerns as well. They should just order new wheels and let me choose to go to 4WP in Austin to get mounted and balanced.
 
While I agree they should repair, preferably replace the wheels, I have high doubts that they will buy you new wheels and if they do I'll be blown away.
 
I had issues with Methods having poor quality powder coating. Yes, it worked decent enough but it could be marked up without proper care. I had the new ones done at a shop, cost me $550 for all 4, colored to match even added an additional topcoat for better protection.

In the end do what you want, handle your business. Good luck getting new wheels.
