AVOID NEWINS FORD-BAYSHORE NY
It started when I had a hard time getting my Truck allocated. I placed an order in April 2020 for F350 FX4 that I ordered. I traded in an handed over a 2010 Dodge Charger for 5,200$ trade and gave them 4,000$ on a credit card. The truck plants were closed due to COVID. So thats a 9,200$ down payment.
I waited till July and finally called them and said I want out of my deal since the truck still hasn't gone into production. After a bit of back and forth with them I said I want a 2021 Tremor since 21s are right around the corner and agreed to leave my deposit with them. Little did I know they had a allocation problem for Super Dutys. Thats why my FX4 wasn't built yet. So I left my deposit of 9,200$ with them since April and waited for 2021 to be able to be ordered.
August 10th Ford opened the order banks for 21 Super Duty. I called my salesman and he said he doesn't see that they are open yet. But they were. 2 weeks later on August 24 he said to come in at 5pm when its dead so we can order my truck. I said I lost 2 weeks already and this is a 90,000$ and I want to be treated right. He said come on in then.
We placed the order on my F250 6.7 Platinum Tremor and some how the Rapid heater was not mentioned and was not ordered on a fully optioned Platty. On 9/12 I went to the dealer to say I want a F350 instead of a F250 which they laughed at me saying how many times do you want to change your order. After we changed it they sarcasticly said are sure this is what you want. I walked out of there feeling like a CHUMP.
Then I waited and waited for my truck to be Pulled with a vin and a build date. All of these other trucks on the Forum that were ordered after mine were getting build dates. Then October 26 they started building them.
One dude on here ordered his 10/15 and they started it 10/26 and he recived it in late November. I had given them a 9,200$ deposit in APRIL. They told me I had to many options and Ford was building more basic trucks. With the help of others on here sharing they orders and build info I was able to show the sales manager that wasn't true. I said I want my deposit back if you can't get my truck allocated by the end of the week which was now early November. Well with the HELP from the LORD above they did pull my order.
I had a build date of 11/30. They started my build 10 days early on 11/20. On 12/6 it was done but needed the spray liner. So 12/16 it was sent out for delivery. I had a ETA delivery of 12/22-12/28 only to get that bumped to 1/4.
Yesterday 12/28 i got a text from my salesman that it was in Upstate NY. Just needed to be sent to Long Island. I was told tomorrow or Wed they think. It got me excited and got me to feel better from having the bug.
I texted my dealer today, the next day, if it was in. He said he'd check in an hour or so. So 2 hours later I went to the dealer to see if it was there. I went in and got treated like shit. It wasn't there. The sales manager was on vacation and my salesman was off. Some guy asked me if he could help me and I explained That I ordered a Tremor. He got my info from a file cabinet and said its not in and won't be there till at least 1/4 since thats what was written on some old paperwork.
So I said OK can I speak with service. Thats when another guy that worked there, who was listening chimed in in such a dick ass way. What do you want from them. So I explained that the winch comes un-installed, and that I had some quetions and a few things to mention to the service manager. He said get a load of this guy to the other gentlemen. I said excues me. He then said NO it says here on your Order that you ordered a 12,000 lbs warren winch from the the truck plant. Thats coming from the factory.
So I explained that Im on a Tremor Forum with 1500 guys that share expierences and that we have a few Ford mechanics that said what to tell the service Dept. He said Pal thats your problem right there, you all are playing telephone and everyone has something else to say and its all BS. I said I'm buying a 93,800$ truck and i want to make sure everything gets done right. The orignal guy almost fell out of his seat and said you are buying a 93,800$ truck from us. Thats when the prick said its 88,600$. I interjected and said MSRP is 93,800$. I then just had to walk the FUCK out of there before I got really pissy. I swear I was about to ask the the guy to step outside and so he can give me a lesson on buying a truck from them.
Now Not for nothing we should not get treated so shitty buying such a freaking expensive truck. I bought my wife a 2020 Mustang Convertible in May from a different dealer. Hasset Ford of Wantagh. Our salesman Howard was so nice. He Begged me to go through him for the TREMOR. He said he would give me the best deal possible and that we now have a relationship. But I am a very LOYAL Dude and stuck it out with the wrong dealer.
I didn't want to or expect to write this POST. I expected the opposite and say through all my hassles this dealer was ok. But I drove home totally deflated from this unbelievable High of possibly seeing my dream truck to be insulted. It was just another BAD EXAMPLE OF HOW NOT TO TREAT A CUSTOMER.
So its worth having a dealer that you will have faith in. That will go out of there way for your business and FUTURE BUSINESS. My wife is freakin pissed. She wants me to Email the GM of the Dealer the salesman, the sales manager and FORD directly.
Shit I'm just dissappointed and just want to get the truck and never go back to them again. I even thought for a brief Stubborn second to call tomorrow and say give me my money for the deposit back. I'm going somewhere Else just for GP-General Purposes.
I'm not going to cut off my nose to spite my face. I will pray tonight for some extra patience and for some Help that this truck will be built right. I debated writing this. I don't want to bad mouth anyone. Then I thought if I can help just one person from going through what I went through and to avoid Newins for a Tremor or a Super Duty it will be worth it. I feel this post is warranted.
Now Newins may sell a lot Mustangs and Explorers which they seem to have a lot of them. They may be a decent dealer for them BUT NOT FOR SUPER DUTYS. Truly they did not treat me well there at all. This whole expierence SUCKED WITH THEM.

Sorry to hear that Donny... but, in my honest opinion, as I read that, it feels just like the dealer where I bought my tremor (and then never went back there). At the end of the day, your vehicle will be there soon (let it be 1/4 worst case) and you’ll go get it, and never look back. These scum businesses with very little interest in customer experience are what they are.

In other words: Your truck will be fine, everything will be good and you don’t need to deal with these guys anymore afterwards.

Thanks Patric. I just want it over with now. I don't even want to see that dude again. He had a real NY attitude. NY sucks. But like you said it can happen anywhere you find a shitty dealer. Point is everyone should go to decent dealers not shit ones that you seem to get a deal from. But in the end it's not worth the money. Other dealers are willing to match the price most likely. Ughhhhhhh

@Iron Man that’s why you are so likable - no one ever has to wonder what you are thinking. Sorry you are getting dicked around with your dealership. I manage a large retail business and I can tell you that nowadays good help is really hard to find. Customer service is what generally separates one business from another - and your dealership doesn’t get it. Stick with the inbound truck, Bro. You’ll get that lovely beast in a week or so and then as you are squealing the tires out of the parking lot - you can yell out the window “NEWINS FORD SUCKS BALLS!

Hang in there brother!

John

I won't go back to any Koons dealer and I'll share this story every opportunity I get.

They sold me a hurricane damaged truck as new and I had to fight like hell to get them to take it back.

Donny...I'm speechless and should probably put my phone down before I exacerbate the situation....but I want you hear that yeah, they are the dickhead mother f#@kers...not you. Hell, I applaud your self-control. I'm really trying to get my head around how anyone in sales feels entitled to talk shit to a customer potentially spending as much $$$ with them as you are. So, your cathartic release in the form of your post rather than stomping a mudhole in his ass is about as constructive an outcome from that incident as I can currently conceive.

I hope you have been documenting all your interactions and correspondence with these asshats throughout the process. Use your posts here for reference if necessary, but yeah, I'd load my metaphorical gun because they need some sunshine disinfection... someone whose opinion they actually value needs to know YOUR side of this shit show of a sale.

Alright... I've backspaced away about a page of impassioned rhetoric I've hammered out in empathetic anger so I can now calmly tell you that yes, pray for a little more patience, and then communicate in the most constructive way possible to the salesperson you've primarily been dealing with that you are affording him/her an opportunity to complete the sale despite his/her fuckstick colleagues' best attempts to kill it. If your salesperson doesn't make you feel like he/she is giving you their best effort from that point forward to put the keys to YOUR truck in your hand...fucking walk away....that is if you can so make your mind up about that now. Otherwise, figure out how much more of their shit you're willing to put with to get YOUR truck. $$$ has always held me back from a purchase like this in the past, this is the first new vehicle I've ever purchased for myself. The irony of you not being able to find someone at that dealership who wants your $$ enough to do their fucking job is unfathomable to me. Hopefully, someone wiser with useful insight can direct you to a happy resolution to your predicament because right now all I can do is tell you I feel ya and pray for you.

That sucks, sounds like some of the dealers I visited before ordering. Not sure why some dealers want to treat customers like shit but seems to be a scary trend. I was fortunate with my situation this time and got a good dealer but have been in that situation in the past. It was in my younger days and didn’t keep my cool as I should have blowing up and getting in a swearing match with a salesman in front of other customers ultimately blowing the deal. The salesman was in a stance like he was going to take a swing, just kept the distance short and kept yelling, not my brightest moment but miracle it didn’t turn into a fist fight. Kudos to you for walking away before making things worse. I would finish the original deal when it gets in and take your business elsewhere in the future.

Thanks to all you great dudes. I used to be a brawler. Not a bully but i seemed never to back down and in more scuffles than anyone I know. I was always trying to stick up for the weak. My old Sen-Sei would say that we are trained and we are the ones to stop something from happening to someone else in the future.
After my accident I became a softer mellower man. In my old days that situation would have went much differently. I'm going to take possesion of my truck when it comes in, if there isn't anything wrong with it. JESUS CHRIST saved me from that terrible accident and I struggle everyday of my life to be what HE wants me to be. By the HIS graces I'm able to eat a bit more crow but it sure isn't a easy path of HIS.
That dealer is never going to see me again after I get my truck. I hope someone on Long Island reads this before they go to that dealer. Life is what we make of it. Live life to it's fullest. Thanking GOD for all HE has Blessed us with.
I love you sick ass brothers of mine. GO TREMOR FAMILY. G O !!!!!!!!!!!! ? ? ? ???

Dammit, Donny...I feel like I'm operating the rollercoaster you're riding right now. I started your day off with GIF's to make you laugh and got you pumped up about your Tremor so you drove down to the dealership to see it and instead, you crossed paths with the two salesmen who suck enough to get stuck working the evenings of the holiday week. Then when they made you mad, I was the not-so-helpful friend with you in the bar shouting, "Whip his ass, Sea Bass!" ? I promise...I did it all outta love brother ?

Even better... get a big flag or one of those banners that the airplanes pull over sports events that says NEVER BUY A VEHICLE FROM NEWINS and just roll up and down Long Island in your sick rig blowing the horn and smiling the whole time! But seriously, what a bunch of clowns. Either way you’re too close to the finish to let some ahole make you start all over. Hang in there brother! ?????

That sucks. I won't do business with any of the Tysons Corner dealers- Koons or otherwise as they are all arrogant dickheads -- especially the Penske Audi dealership. The Koons GMC in Tysons is also a piece of work.

That being said, Ive bough 6 vehicles from Koons Sterling Ford and the new car side and the service side are awesome to deal with.

Iron Man you’ll get your opportunity, after you purchase the vehicle Ford will send you a customer satisfaction survey. You need to let them know how dissatisfied you are with the whole experience.

Also if you’re considering financing any of the truck you should also f*%# them on that too! Go to a few of your local credit unions and get pre approved for the amount of your truck and don’t let the dealer make a dime on finance!!!

Don’t buy the warranty from them go to another dealer or use flood Ford USP!

Dude!!! I’d tell that “dealership” to pound sand!!!! It’d be a cold day on hell before I bought anything from there!

Easy to say if you haven’t been waiting 3+ months on your fully spec’d out 90k USD truck already. Especially now that inventory is a bit tricky and dealers trying to pull off tricks left and right. You’re asking him to potentially wait another 3 months.
I wouldn’t let pride get in the way here. He’ll get his chance to make things right with the dealer, I think first he needs to get his truck though.
