Curious if American Racing 17x8 wheels with zero offset will clear the factory calipers, or too close for comfort? Aware of the potential wheel weight issue, but that’s a different topic, as I can use beads or Centramatics.

I will stick with my stock Tremor rims if enough people say to not take the risk.

Depends on shape of the inside of the barrel and how it tapers down to meet the mounting face/hub. My 17" Method 304's fit (as do all of the Method 17" offerings... even those with +18 offsets), but there's basically no taper in the barrel, its flat into a 90deg transition to the mounting face and the spokes actually have a sort of concave curvature to them between the barrel and the hub that takes them even futher away from the calipers. No issues with my stick on wheel weights on the inside either.

I cant find any pictures from the back side of those Baja's you are looking at, but you might want to get eyes on them first before rolling the dice.

Thank you! Might be worth ordering a single rim and trying it out.

@Tex_Hunter Found a pic online of the barrel shape of the rim:

Why not just go with 18”+ wheels and avoid the clearance issue?
Cheers 🍻

Hard to tell (or my eyes suck) but looks like it tapers more going into the mounting face, but also hard to tell how much further the hub offsets back which would create more clearance. I'd maybe call raceline and see if they can confirm fit or not.

I could cut you a deal on my 304's and AT3s (got about 12k miles on them, two are closer to 6k as I've been doing 5 tire rotations with my fullsize spare ;)

I've been kicking around trying to go with a +18mm offset wheel but there's basically only one option that I am interested in that would allow me to keep my 17's vs going up to an 18" wheel and I don't want to drop another $4k on wheels and tires unless I could get good value for the current set.

The difference between 17” and 18” wheels on 37” tires has to be negligible for ride. What am I missing in this?

Btw... not to talk you out of the Baja's, but these are 17x9 +18mm offset that do fit on a Super Duty (it's the one option I am considering to replace my current wheels, but in Titanium)... the matte black goes with the overall look you have on your truck.

Those do look pretty nice! And will not stick out as much as a 0 offset.

More of a look, for the fatter widewall/bulge 😏

How much clearance between caliper and rim would you say? 1/8" maybe?
Unfortunately I don't recall and they currently aren't mounted on my truck.

I know you can fit wheel weights, they just can't be stacked.

Just mounted 17s. No biggie. Just put weights where they won’t interfere with the calipers.

Thousands of people running 17s…..

The test rim came in, and it's definitely a tight clearance between caliper and the ID of the rim, but clearance nonetheless.

I do love the fact that it's 5 lbs 2 oz. lighter than the stock Tremor rim.

I'll await your expert opinions before deciding on returning the rim or not.

Man that looks close. I’ve been on the fence with aftermarket wheels 17 vs 18. For me me this solidifies staying with an 18”. I can only imagine the rocks I’d have jammed in there scarring the wheel. The down side is there’s not many 37x18’s in D rating. Which is what the next set of rubber will be to soften the ride even more.
