Why Is My Truck Not Built?

That is my understanding. It was stated in the Blue Oval Forums that the semiconductor shortage is starting to impact Super Duty production, but it should NOT impact builds that are already scheduled.
My BFF is the GM of product planning for a German carmaker, and confirmed the semiconductor shortage was, and remains a problem. Their solution was to build cars with less content (fewer computers) and push them onto rental companies. That way the plants aren't idle.

I suspect we'll see that across the board moving forward.

Today came with us in the news that the mercedes Factories in germany are also involved. also at Volkswagen...In germany is inquired in Taiwan if they can deliver faster....

Tell that to my dealer who stared my Tremor build was pushed back 34 days due to a shortage of semiconductor chips. The article also stated it effected the F350 Super Duty, which my Tremor is and my build has been affected.
What was your original build date/week?

The article has to do with the 350 chassis cab, so unless you have ordered a very unique tremor without a truck bed, your truck is not produced in that OHAP facility. It will be coming from KTP.

Article mentions "F-350" when they're talking about chassis cab production at another plant entirely, then goes on to state that delay is unrelated to the semi-conductor issue.

EDIT: Quicklx beat me to it.

Unrelated (maybe) to semiconductors, but I talked to a few people who ordered heavy duty RAM trucks and their lead times are upwards of 20 weeks.

I believe it does affect folks hoping to order a Tremor between now and August. My friendly dealer told me yesterday that he really can't get more trucks until August. I asked him to clarify if he meant he just wasn't taking anymore special orders because the plant was just filling dealer stock and he told me no, he meant he couldn't order ANY more and was missing out on hundreds of sales a month as a result. Ford may be having to prioritize allocation of resources

I am not trying to say my Tremor will be built where they are doing layoffs in the article. The article was just an indicator that maybe the semiconductor shortage (including what my dealer stated) is one of the many reasons for such a long wait. If I could delete the post I would.

I'm just sharing what my friend told me. I do not profess to have any insight other than exactly the brief conversation I described above. I'm the last person that would want discourage anyone on here getting what they want. That's not my style. Just trying to share info and be helpful as so many on here have done. Hell... I'm hoping someone hasn't reallocated my Tremor which is lost in Alabama for all I know

@ KH_2021Tremor We both had our trucks scheduled to be built the same day in Jan and then they were both bumped to the same week of 08 Feb. I just checked and as of today mine says "in production"
Have you checked recently? yours may be as well
