This issue has been touched on in a couple of threads but I wanted to start a dedicated thread to the subject. My Tremor is not even built yet but after reading some other threads and seeing pictures of forum members' modified rigs, I went ahead and ordered a Carli leveling kit, Fuel Vector 20x9 wheels and 37" Mickey Thompson Baja ATZ tires. So, now I'm asking myself, "Why did I order the Tremor package in the first place if I'm replacing most of the Tremor parts?" Other than being able to be a part of this excellent forum, it seems I paid $4,000 for fender flares, a smaller air dam, an off road mode I might not use much, and a sticker I plan to remove the day I take delivery of the truck (I'm not a fan of the Tremor logo). My fiancé says I'm an idiot. Can someone please give me something I can use to convince her otherwise?

1. Build the same truck as a FX4 and not a Tremor. The price difference is minimal.
3. 4.30 gears with the 7.3.
4. Limited slip front dif.
5. Running Boards (The terrain has raised mine in the past. These come higher.)

also: extended vent hoses for water fording.

and it was only 1700 over an Fx4 on most builds

I didn't try building an FX4 to see how the actual price worked out. I'm going to Ford.com to do that now.

I forgot to mention, I went with the 6.7L and power running boards so that leaves me with just the dif...

It might just be my set of options but the difference between an FX4 and a Tremor for me is $2,920. That's better than the $4,000 I had in my head. I'm not getting the black package or the ultimate package so I'm not getting those discounts. If I was, that would drop the $2,920 down significantly.

I'll tell my old lady I expect to sell the Tremor suspension parts, rims and tires for $2,000. That sounds possible. Then I'm looking at net $920 for the Tremor pieces I'm keeping.

You're fiance's wisdom is not that far off. It's okay though, you're not the first guy to buy a Tremor then replace 3/4ths of what constitutes one from a content and cost perspective.

Actually I think I may have an interesting story on how I acquired my lovely tremor. On Halloween morning I was headed to work and someone decided to pull out in front of me in my 2017 (lariat f250 6.7) causing a collision. After waiting on the police report and finally getting it in the shop for repairs, I received a rental (a completely bare Nissan Frontier). So after my truck was in the shop for a few weeks I started thinking maybe I wanted to get something new. Considering I have a ton of equity in my 17. This led to start thinking. I had looked at tremors online when they came out, and thought they were pretty badass. One evening I was having a couple drinks, and decided to “go look”. Needless to say I ended up driving home in my 2021 tremor, and now own 2 F250 lariat trucks one 2017 fx4 6.7 and one 2021 Tremor 6.7. So technically I didn’t order it, but still a funny story. I must say the truck buying experience is a breeze when you’re buzzed. Lol
And expensive. Just like women.

Maybe ask her how much she's gonna cost you and is she worth it?

920 for the rock crawl mode and shorter plastic bumper air dam that’s a good deal ??

No love for the Rock Crawl or Trail modes?
Those and the limited slip diff float my boat.
I just don't see myself using them that often. Maybe I'm wrong. I'd like to be wrong about that.

It seems to me Rock Crawling mode is a waste of money. A gimmick. For a couple of reasons. But why buy a whole new suspension system before even trying the stock setup? If you do, money is not the issue. How do you know the stock setup is terrible before you even get the truck? If there is a weakness in the front suspension, it's the trailing arms, because they seem thin and they have no caster adjustments. Ram has the same design and they have adjusters. Adjusters help dial out death wobble.

Carli will adjust out the death wobble for $10k!

I’ve owned several super duties and I have not once been impressed with the stock rancho shocks, to be blunt they are trash (in my experience and opinion). I definitely agree with you about the no caster adjustment being sub-par.

If you are running 37's, a regear would cost you 3K.. The running boards will be put to good use, as your girl will love them when getting in the truck. Those 2 items cover the entire cost of the the Tremor package.

If you are going to replace all the Tremor parts, buy an FX4!

You know one big difference? The bank will finance the Tremor. It won't finance upgrades from a FX4.

I agree with her!?‍♂️

I've seen this come up on other threads. It's an interesting topic to me. If the weather is bad this weekend. I'll do a deep dive into all that you get with the Tremor. I don't think Ford does a great job of identifying all the benefits.

If there is a package I found to have little value, it is the Lariat Ultimate package. It seems really expensive for what you get, especially since it no longer comes with the sunroof. Zero times have I ever needed a power tailgate! I must be doing something wrong. And don't tell me some story about carrying a bunch of lumber and reaching for your keys to lower the tailgate.
