When should I expect a response regarding my order a month ago.

Hello all,

I ordered my truck on 04/23/2021 and the dealer said that the order would go in on 04/28/21. Should have I received anything yet or do I need wait for scheduling to begin. I'm not familiar with the ordering process and I am aware of the semiconductor issues. The dealer hasn't heard anything either. I really hope to have the truck before thanksgiving at the very latest. What are your thoughts?

When I ordered mine, I received an email the next day from Ford confirming the order. You should receive confirmation very quickly after the order is placed. If you haven’t, I’d ask why.

Like LeviGarrett above, I received a confirmation email from Ford pretty quickly after my dealer placed my order. I have read on forums (possibly here) that it’s possible for the dealer to submit your order without your email address tied to it, in which case you wouldn’t get any order confirmation, so double check with your dealer.

Also, definitely don’t count on having the truck by Thanksgiving. It’s anyone’s guess when the 2022’s will arrive.

If you feel your dealer isn’t updating you right, you can call Ford marketing with your sales and order numbers to ask if you have a VIN assigned: 800-334-4375

I haven’t personally done this, but I noted down this info from someone else on the forum (can’t look up the post at the moment) who did to get their VIN.

I received an email from Ford the next day confirming the order.

I’m a tech at a dealership and I sent my order in on the same day. 4/28/2021. I bug the sales guys almost jokingly every day if it’s here yet. I didn’t know I was supposed to get an email until I read this thread so I checked my junk mail and sure enough found it. Just looking at our lot I can tell truck production has slowed quite a bit so it’ll probably be a while but who knows.

Ordered 2/19 confirmed with an email...got partial vin on 3/25..it was early April before I got full VIN.

Some of the best advice I got on this forum was to just forget about it.... Easy to drive yourself crazy by getting anxious, I know I did. I've only had the truck 2.5 months now, and the 4 month wait is a distant memory.
