Dumb question but does anyone else have this noise with their 7.3L tremor? Happens right on the initial start. If this happened on my F150 I didn’t notice it. Sounds like a rattle in the muffler maybe? It goes away after 30 seconds or so. Just wanted to ask here before wasting time at the dealer if it’s nothing abnormal.
normally I wouldn’t think twice but now I’m on high alert ?
Thanks!!

Yeah I have some strange noises that I notice when it first starts and occasionally even when it's ran for a while. Haven't figured it out yet, have you?

Well I found my odd noise this past weekend.....for me it was the stupid tinfoil heat shield around the transmission pan, between it and the exhaust...no more tinfoil, no more annoying rattle.

Cat. Like a real cat that goes meow.

A long long time ago my buddy's mom drove an Oldsmobile with a 350 Diesel. It would make all kinds of strange noises. I had never ridden in it. One day we were picking up some girls so his Mom said to take her car rather than our hunks of junk. We pulled it out of the garage and started going down the street. Over all the racket of that Diesel I heard meeooowwwwwww... over and over again. I asked my buddy if he heard a cat. He didn't say a thing, got a crappy look on his face, turned the car around and headed home. When we got to his house he pulled into the driveway, popped the hood, pulled the cat out, and tossed it on the lawn.

The cat would climb up under the hood and take naps on the wheel wells. It was smart enough to not try and get out after the engine started. It was a regular thing for them. So, when ever we would hear a strange noise in a car, someone would just say "cat".

I have that same noise on my F-250 xlt tremor 7.3l. I just bought it used and did not hear it at the dealer-probably cuz I was too excited. I too am wondering what it is. It tends to go away once start up has warmed up, but it sounds horrible on the cold start. Did you ever figure it out?

I ended up taking it in and all they said was that’s not normal and ordered me a new muffler. Good to go after that 👌🏽

Ok, good to know! Did they mention anything about a technical service bulletin?
