What did you do to your Tremor today?

Broke down and had the winter studded tires bolted on.

Spent part of the day unfucking dealer work. Had mine in previously to replace the carpet after water leaked in through back of cab vents. Pulled console to add some wiring and discovered whatever hack they had working on it sheared three of the seven bolts securing the console and didn’t bother to say anything or fix them. Drilled them out, tapped them and secured it properly. Three of the seven looked like the picture.

Damn, I hate dealers. Mac Haik Ford in Houston.

Damn... I would've taken it back, or probably to the next nearest dealer and had them fix it. What happens if you roll your truck and the console comes loose? Hell of a safety issue. (Although I did build a custom speaker box console in my f150 to replace the center seat and never bolted it down...😜)

Been busy since picking up my 2023 Tremor last Friday......front tints, led tail/turn, and tag, mx4, 1.5 front level, forscan mods, bed sticker change......loving it! Took a 100 mile trip tonight, and 21.3 MPG! Not complaining a bit!

I sheared off one of the bolts taking my console out, so I feel for the tech who did it. It looked kind of like blue Loctite on the bolts, but was super strong.

But there’s no excuse for a tech to leave the bolts sheared off. Should have absolutely been fixed properly.

For anyone in the future encountering this, use an heat gun and vice grips on the back end of the bolt exposed through the bracket. The heat makes them loosen right up for easy removal!

Took out my jump seat to add in a center console from a 2021 f150 is in. Had to do a small amount of trimming where the console meets the dashboard but other than that it lined right up. I still need to order a replacement trim for the ac/ radio control bezel that is made for the flow through console. Also need to find trim that works for the upper part of the console. Upper trim for a 2023 f250 console from ford is $80-100 per side and upper trim for a 2021 f150 from ford is $250 a side.. I *think* the super duty trim should work from looking at pictures

Also there is an extension piece for $25 that will connect the ac vents in the console to the dash vent where I removed the rear foot piping

Honestly not busting balls, what was the point of ripping out the 250 console for a 150 one

Yeah my bad I could have made it more clear but I took out the jump seat
Curious as to the background here, too. I recall seeing people do this to get the console shifter, but if you were just replacing the jump seats why wouldn't you go with a SuperDuty console?

Or is that just as much work when you start with a jumpseat config?

Thx!

Didn’t want to pay dealer cost for a 2023 console- would have worked out to over 2k from what I can figure. And being in a 23 there’s no Oem takeoff on eBay yet. I got this console as a brand new take off from a 150 for $900 shipped. But my logic was that the overhead console I installed for my upfitters was the same part as the 2021-current f150s
And looking and pictures online the center console and center dash area of the 2021-current f150 is MUCH closer in style to the 23 super duty than a 17-22 super duty

That makes sense. Thanks for the added detail!
