Has anyone installed the wireless remote yet? Yes, I know that it just plugs into the front of the winch but the kit comes with a ground jumper wire that needs to be added to the plug for it to recognize that the receiver is plugged in. It looks like it just connects to the ground lug at the motor and jumpers over to the plug but of course, the directions are a close-up of the winch so it's hard to really tell where that connection is being made so I was hoping someone else had tackled this already. If so does the bumper need to be removed?

Not sure why the dealer didn't install it but I will document the process and post the information back here when I am finished.

BTW, I had given my dealer the links to the winch threads that had issues with the install hoping that I could avoid a similar problem and they did a great job, then I went to try it out realized they forgot to remove the shipping rubber band. Not a big detail but come on, pay attention people.

My dealer left my band on as well. Unfortunately, these “techs” have often never installed a winch on a vehicle and have no idea how they even work.
I just noticed today that my winch line is “over” the drum. According to the instructions, the winch line should spool in or out from the bottom side of the drum.

Yeah most of the techs think they know it all and could care less about any links they’re sent.

Okay so my line is definitely on top of the drum. This is backwards from the instruction manual and also different from the icons on the wireless winch remote. Interestingly, the “in” and “out” buttons do make the line move “in” and “out” as expected. If my line was spoiled on the wrong side of the drum wouldn’t these buttons on the remote be backwards? What am I missing?

Update - I just got a message from Warn. They confirmed that on this model (for the Tremor) that the winch line is expected to be spooled over the top of the drum. So, my setup is correct. Thanks, Warn!! (they got back to me within a few hours - awesome service!)

I was wondering the same. I guess I'll just put it in the top glove box for now.
I think the holster was designed to mount on the handle bar of a four wheeler. Kind of a universal remote that is being included with all their winch designs. Mine lives in the glove box as well. It's not like I'll need it often and I know where it's safely stored.

Awaiting truck delivery with winch...question does this remote have the safety feature where you have to mash 2 different buttons at the same time before operation? My 10-s Platinum on my Jeep is like that and it is a PIA...last thing I wanna do if I am dealing with a winch line is have to have both hands on the remote...smh I will say the remote for tremor winch looks way less complicated..maybe the basic remote?

I will say where ever you store it keep the charging cord with it...sucks to need it and have to wait for the remote to charge. YMMV

It requires two fingers to activate and then one button operation. It's easily activated with one free hand. It times out in about five minutes if no buttons are pushed. It is not rechargeable, has a disc battery I believe.

I have a love/hate relationship with the remote. I wish it was ready 24/7, instead of having to put the “antenna” on the winch, then holding down the button to activate the “antenna”, then pressing/holding both buttons on the remote to activate it....THEN having the remote “time out” and having to do all this AGAIN!!! I actually use my winch. Since taking delivery on Christmas Eve 2020, I bet I’ve used it a minimum of a dozen time to either unstick my truck or tractor. Other than the remote and wishing for a longer rope, I’ve been pleased.

Nothing is worst than having multiple people handling a Remote. No .. it says put, until I'm ready for it. Winching is stressful enough because of the dangers involved. It's also part of the fun of wheeling. I've only had two Cordless Remotes, my Polaris and my last Wrangler. I put the Remote inside a Ziplock Bag along with a small Laminated Rigging Chart I got from a Jeep Club years ago. Then Velcro the Bag to the underside of the console lid. They stay together, I know where it is. Not where someone saw it last.

I think the antenna connect is a one time step out of the box, at least for me I did it once and haven't had to since. I plug in the receiver to the winch, I'm right there to grab the hook anyway, and hold the two buttons down to activate after I've made my connection and ready to pull. Hasn't really been a hassle from my experience, not like a tethered pendant. Although I can foresee dropping the little remote in the mud during a frazzled attempt at pulling a vehicle out. Probably needs a wrist tether, like the one they put on the receiver.
