I have a 2020 F250 Tremor 7.3L gas with about 1400 miles on it.

From the start I had a vibration issue, which was more noticable at speed, and more when accelerating, but can be felt throughout any speed it seemed. I was told by people on reddit or forums that is was the tires that needed to be worn in or something like that, but it seemed more than that. I had the wheels balances and it helped a bit (they were slightly out of balance) but did not fix the problem completed. I lowered my tire pressue and that didn't seem to help much either.

I was finally able to get the truck to the dealership (i had a hunting trip to Alabama, and some projects on my house that made me need the truck for a while) at 1400 miles on the truck, and they seem to have found the issue is in the Torque Converter - they are ordering a new one, which should be installed by the end of next week.

Fingers crossed this is the answer.

These torque converters must come out of China or something, seen tons of different problems with them, not necessarily here. Mine had a seal failure on the torque converter and leaked at 1500 miles.

What kind of vibration? Any detail on pattern, intensity, frequency and occurrence?

At low speeds, its not so noticible - but doesn't feel quite right. Almost like being on a rough road with high pressure tires/tight suspension - however, I am driving on very smooth pavement so it doesn't make sense.

At high speeds (65MPH+) the vibration is constant, and enough to shake liquid in a bottle consistently. When throttling to increase speeds, it gets worse.

The vibration is more felt in the seat, but can also be felt in the steering wheel - so its really a full vehicle vibration.

Have you tried to have the tires road force balanced. I would see if the dealer can get this done for you.

I wouldn't expect vibration from tire balancing shouldn't increase/decrease when giving it gas. More vibration at speed, sure - but throttle use shouldn't. I did have them balanced, and that did seem to make a small impact "maybe" but on the roadtrip I took with lots of highway miles, I realized the throttle side of it.

Balancing is easy.. if the dealership and ford (they are working together on it) is wrong and the torque convertor doesn't fix the issue then I'll inquire more on the road force balance.

I would agree with you if you saying it is more gas pedal related. Maybe you have a driveshaft just out of spec.

I have 11,000 miles on my 2020 7.3 tremor and found a nice big puddle of transmission fluid under my truck this morning. Oil change was done at 8,000 miles so probably an issue with the torque converter seal. Had anyone seen this on their trucks?

NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V365000

Manufacturer Ford Motor Company

Components POWER TRAIN

Potential Number of Units Affected 13

Summary
Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2020 Super-Duty F-250, F-350, and F-550 diesel pickups. The transmission torque converter damper plate was not tempered, resulting in a brittle damper plate that may fracture and cause the engine to stall or require increased brake pedal effort in order to stop the vehicle.
Remedy
Ford will notify owners, and dealers will replace the transmission assembly, free of charge. This recall began July 6, 2020. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 20S33.
Notes
Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.

Ya, that was my guess also, but they are saying it's a torque converter. We shall see.

Yea mine leaked like I said. The torque converter sealing surface was never machined/polished from the factory so it eventually ate up the seal. Take it in they will fix it but could be a long wait to get parts.

@Fidelis_One - I sure hope this corrects the issue for you.????

I have a 2020 Ford Tremor Platinum 7.3 gas engine. Tranny leak and automatic four wheel drive will not engage due to a front hub seal leak. Parts have no ETA and dealership instructs me I can continue to drive the truck and check tranny fluid until parts arrive and can be repaired. Contacted ford customer service line today to get a better answer and they have the same answer and will put in an emergency request as did the dealership. Terrible customer service with no answer just apologies. Purchase a $70k truck and have transmission leaks and the shift on the fly 4 wheel drive does not operate correctly. Truck has 11,725 miles and problems. Owned a 2015 F150 and 2019 F150 both ecoboost with no problems. Not a great feeling for a loyal ford owner to get no answers. They will not take parts from the factory to repair the trucks already sold and in use. Not a great way to enjoy a new truck.

Sorry to hear about your issue and I hope they get you up and going real soon (and that the issue never returns!). I walked away from Ford over 30 years ago due to crap like that. Been a very happy jap car/truck owner ever since. Well FORD.... I'm back now because I need a 3/4-1 ton truck. I cross my fingers every day that I won't get sent the 'Shit Box Edition' that plagues a small percentage of owners. We'll see when my truck arrives in the next couple of weeks.

Just a quick update. Its now Feb 15th, and I still don't have my truck back from the dealership.

They are of course "sure" its the Torque Converter, but of course there are none available to fix the problem. The part was supposed to arrive on Feb 5th, and didn't. It's now supposed to "be released" this week.. whatever the hell that means.

I believe I dropped my truck off on Jan 3-4, so its now 6 weeks without my truck.

The dealership did give me an F150 to drive around while I am without my truck, which takes some of the pain away, but this still sucks.

That sucks. I would contact Ford customer service and ask them to pay a payment or other compensation. I did this on a new Ford Explorer that had an extended stay in the shop, and Ford wind up paying a payment. You need to contact Ford themselves, not the dealer.

Finally got my truck back today after over 2 months. End result was a full assembly replacement of the transmission. While I noticed a distinct difference when putting the truck in gear (it used to jump forward a bit, now it doesn't), I still need to validate if the clicking noise is gone.

Unfortunately, while I think the shaking issues was improved a bit, I'm not sure it fixed the problem completely. Might also be some other issues causing the vibration. I'll take it back out tonight for a more thorough ride.

Has your issue been resolved
