Who else here is a little miffed about the removal of our under hood/engine bay lighting with the new superduties. Yra it wasn't the best when we had it but it was something. That and our missing cup holder led's too! What's next? Our seatbelts!? Haha but seriously maybe @F150LEDsMatt can find a way to resolve this like he did our precious cup holder lights.

What year? My 2021 has it.

The light isn't that useful or bright from what others have reported here. I was going to do the same as well and add it to my '22 with the factory part, but not now. Much better to have a Coast XPH30R headlamp or something equivalent in glovebox.

I thought about doing something as well and then decided to just use a headlamp. I purchased and have been using a Lightbar for the past few months and love it. It is definitely for closer proximity work but I am a believer. I have others for longer range illumination if needed.

Buddha say, Under-hood lights are just enough light to lure you to thinking you might actually be able to see something and don't need to go get a real light...always was and always will be...

I mean is Ford really saving millions of dollars by not offering a 3 dollar light?
Not meant to be a smarta$$ response but, probably... $3 x 350,000/year = $1,050,000 per year, not including the lineside labor to do it.

On another note, someone could bring out a quality LED underhood light strip that uses a mercury or modern equivalent/gravity switch and sell it. Or tap into the hood ajar switch for the signal at least since mercury will float around on bumpy roads.

I hear ya, but they can just build 15 more 80k trucks to make that money back. It's not like they wont sell 15 more trucks for a 45$ investment. LOL

You forgot: $1,050,000 - $1,500,000 Executive "pat yourself on the back for saving money" bonuses = -$450,000 per year. So by my math they are actually losing money by removing equipment.

Guarantee KTP is pumping out every single vehicle it can. If they could squeeze in 1 additional truck they would. Still the cash cow for Ford!

Yep, I bitched like hell when my 21 Lariat Ultimate didn't come with Adjustable Headrests. Still pisses me off to think about it.
Damn it ..!!
I love how we don't really know how much we want/need something until we learn it's NLA or been removed. I have that same issue with the headrests and the under hood lamp. I will likely never use either - but it still heats up my vinegar.

Let it all out, brother. We're here for you.

Hey @Ghost240 ! We actually do have a solution to this problem (although I will tell you a revised upgraded model is in the works ⚙️)

You can check it out below, it does use a mercury/tilt switch setup like @BroncoHooves mentioned. Let us know your thoughts! We may be able to wrap it into the next generation. Thanks!
