I’m sure this has been answered and I did a brief search but couldn’t find exactly what I’m looking for answered. If it has been I’ll gladly delete this post. With ultimate tow package is the truck pre wired for the trailer camera or do you need to run the harness on the truck side? Thank you for your time.

My truck has the 7/12 plug in the bed of the truck. You plug your camera, trailer tire pressure sensor and yaw sensor for 5th wheels into the 12 pin. I only have the camera. Plugged right in and worked right away. And it works while driving. Hit the button on the dash while moving and I can view camera in the bed then press again for camera on my trailer. Camera turns off when you come to a complete stop.

Short answer is no. I think you also need to get the fifth wheel/gooseneck hitch prep package in order to get the wired connection in the bed and at the bumper.

If you want the camera plug for the bumper connection it comes with the Customer Placed Trailer Camera package. That kit comes with a 12/7 pin connector that replaces the bumper plug and connects to the existing wiring harness behind the bumper. Takes about 15-30 minutes to install on the truck. The trailer wiring harness of course has to be installed by you.

I’m buying a cargo trailer soon, and would like to include a back camera on the rear, and a camera inside to check cargo shift (paranoid enough to pull over and look at stuff often, thinking this might help…?)

Does the bumper plug already have the camera connection, or is that what the extra wiring harness that was in the back seat enable and I need to install/replace the harness that was factory installed? And can I make it work with two cameras, or do I need to look into the Navyv upgrade?

Correct. The plug from the factory is replaced with the one in the trailer camera kit. It's a pretty quick install. They include in the kit a 7 to 4 pin adaptor for if you have to connect a 4 pin plug later. You will have to additional systems to have more than one trailer camera. I'm not very familiar with those systems yet.
