Turbo 7.3 Godzilla 1100+ HP and 1037+ Torque?

Really curious what this is and where I can get it: "While testing at Merkel Racing Engines' dyno in Hauppauge, New York, the crew ran a naturally aspirated version of the 7.3-liter with an upgraded throttle body and OBR MAP calibration. The result was 540 hp, which is a healthy increase over the pushrod lump's factory-rated figure of 430 hp."

Could be they are measuring it at 540hp since it's on an engine stand with no water pump or accessory loads.

Imagine what the Diesel engine is really capable of if you got rid of all the emissions shit and put a better turbo on it.

just because you can get that much power out of an engine by tweaking these things doesn't mean you should lol. I bet the service life of the engine is drastically reduced doing shit like this....but a lot of fun in the meantime!

That is impressive. I'm curious what the engine can safely produce after all this R&D testing. In a way, I regret getting the 6.7 over the 7.3, but I know that if I get the 7.3, I'd regret it even more. If only I had the money for both.

The ante has been upped! Whipple 3.0L blower plus pretty much everything new except block and crank makes 1450hp without exploding!
