Truck just updated software

when it updated my truck several settings were set back to orginal so you will have to check
What type of update was this and how do you know if it did the update?

Software update. I initiated it in the driveway and couldn’t wait for it to update all the way at the house but it must have finished when I was driving as the system shut off and restarted. I had to re enter my destination in the navigation also.

I had time to go through the truck settings today and looks like the only thing that changed after the update was the check back seat for occupants warning. I turned it off and it said it will ask me twice a year if I want it back on or not ?.
I know a guy who forgot he was supposed to be bringing his twins to daycare on his way to work. Left them in the backseat of his F150 when he got to the office. Kids died. He went to prison.
So I get it. Still, feels out of place in this truck. And just doesn’t work intelligently.
My god. I don’t think I could continue on from that.
Talk about being sent straight to Hell, sitting in a prison cell replaying that day in your mind the rest of your life. ?
What a horrible tragedy and to now have to not only live with that memory but to also be in prison for it. With that said, I am not sure how you can "forget your kids" in the backseat. I never had children but it is beyond my comprehension how this happens and I hope I never know.
I forget the exact triggers for it, but they're in the manual. But it's basically something like the rear doors were opened at any point after the truck was started. Maybe even a time window right before the truck is started?
Happens all the time. I imagine it has much to do with the sleep deprivation involved with having babies. I was on autopilot many days when my kids were small.
Aren't all kids annoying and loud though? Surely you'd notice.

My biggest regret is not having more children.
Usually when kids are noisy it's because they are care free and loving every moment of life.
Mark my words, if you have children, your statement above will become one of your most embarrassing. Life doesn't begin until you are holding your first born. And than life becomes way too short when you are holding your first grandchild.
Nope. 52 here and no kids. Wife and I are very happy. No regrets.
