Truck Campers Only, w/ an Overland & Off-roading theme

Yeah, my exposed metal is quite a bit different. Looks like yours is the actual canvas track, where as my canvas track is mounted outside this lip (which is the top cap of the aluminum camper). I'm guessing your composite construction is just completely different.

I'll let you know if I have condensation issues this winter :)
The nice thing about how your canvas track attaches is you probably haven't had to chase water leaks like I have. I think I'm all sealed up now but that was a HUGE disappointment when I took delivery of this camper shell. That story will remain off-line though and the important thing is that I am now enjoying the camper!

Had a dozen leaks myself. Did not start any interior work until I was satisfied I’d found and resolved them all :)

And all my own drama with the canvas. But eventually got it all worked out.

I’m gonna post this up here…. As a truck camper owner I think this is one of the most important updates we can do to our trucks. Small price to pay to keep someone walking off with your taillights in 30 seconds.

Finally got the new rig out for a some local waterfall chasing and a shakedown trip last weekend. The comfort level and power the truck generates far surpasses what I had in the Tundra. I would like to get some of the body roll tightened up though. Best way of doing that without putting on a new suspension? Tibrens/sumo in back and upgraded sway bar and steering stabilizer upfront?

Looks great!!!! So if your truck is a Tremor, I’m not sure if it is or not, you won’t have a rear sway bar at all. The factory one can be added or a larger aftermarket one if you so choose.

As for Sumo’s…. UGH!!!!! I have wanted Sumo’s in my Tremor since the beginning. It seems that they don’t make them for the Tremor…. I think they would be the ideal solution….

I’ve posted about this a lot. Let me know if you need more information about either topic and I can post some thread links for you.

He has the Tremor boards so 50/50 chance. 😂

Yeah idk, kind of hard to know…. Lot of aftermarket stuff on there. Tons of guys swapped to the higher running boards but he said he had a sway bar, which definitely wouldn't be on a Tremor so…. At least that’s how I read it, of course I’ve been wrong a time or two.

Thanks! I’m loving the truck camper combo so far. It is a F250 Tremor, just debadged. I did see your thread about the sumo’s. I called Sumo and left a message a week ago to see if they had a solution but never heard back. May try Timbrens as a back up. A rear sway bar would help, I just would hate to lose the clearance when off-roading. I was wondering if an upgraded front sway bar would help.

It looks great! The sway bar shouldn’t hurt you too much…. Sumo’s would be so great! Maybe someday.

I had the Hellwig sway bar in the rear. It made such a big difference on my F250. You give up a tiny bit of ground clearance, but so much improved driving.

Thanks Chris. Did you see any noticeable loss of articulation? And did you add it before you did the lift? TIA

It was added after the lift and after flatbed and camper installation. The camper was on permanently. The sway bar did not cause any issues with off-roading and I was on some trails where a Super Duty usually would not be expected. I would get it installed again if necessary (can't tell yet regarding the new rig). I also always carried tools around to disconnect it if needed.

Much appreciated!

Totally unrelated Chris but you responded to one of my posts on Expo and I wanted to make sure you knew it was me over there. I go by SimplyAnAdventure on that forum, heck that was my handle here too when i started by Tramper seemed a lot more fun. Lol

No, that’s the user name I had on here first but after I put the sticker on Tramper someone asked me why that wasn’t my user name. Hahahaha. I actually like the other name better…. But at this point I have a certain reputation on here…. So TRAMPER it is!

With a camping trip with the munchkins rapidly approaching, I finally started the initial stages of building out my Tune M1. I knocked out a quick subfloor today.

Actually parked out in the front yard right now hoping to catch some good views of tonight’s meteor shower.

Love the ceiling storage for your rack! Would I be able to ask for a close up of the design?
I don’t have a close up right now….but it’s just a 2500# winch, ran up to the ceiling with a wireless remote.
