Tremors and Campers let's talk camping!!

Black Series and Kimber are both Australian made/designed. Now, manufacture is another discussion entirely.

My initial draw to the Black Series was the quality of materials and their build. 110% top notch materials versus anything I had seen in the US. Saw a few HQ 17's and 19s at ROA and was wholly impressed. I even watched every video I could find, most coming from ROA, but all reviews stating very good quality materials and build overall for the Black Series.

No question the Blacks are well designed and seem well built.
The Chinese are capable of producing some level of quality.
I'd be a lot more tempted if they were built anywhere other than China.
The Kimberleys just seem to be at another level, as well they
should with the T starting at $160K! The base model E is $72K!

I'll stick with my ORV for a good while. It's paid for and does the job.

The layout, craftsmanship, and tech of the Kimberley is the best I've seen, plus I'd rather give my money to the Aussies although for all I know the Kimberleys are made in China too.
I'm a Kimberley owner...I can assure you they are 100% made in Australia.

^^^ Izzat one of those Aussie rigs?
Yes, Kimberley Kruiser S3. Second unit produced for the US market (reverse floor plan as the Aussies drive on the wrong side of the road).

We picked it up 9/17 in Ohio and drove straight out to Flagstaff where we displayed in the Kimberley booth at Overland Expo West. Huge turnout and interest.

My camper is a customized cargo trailer. Cabinets, bed, stereo, microwave, toaster oven, Keurig coffee maker, LED lighting. And I can haul my Harley with me. Only thing I still need to add is a mini split for A/C and heat. Custom made (by me) in Virginia Beach, VA. Certainly should be an easy tow for a Tremor.

Oops, sorry about the double images. First time posting pics.

Nice Toy Hauler! What has been your experience towing that camper with a lifted Tremor?
Thanks
My recommendation is air bags if your towing heavy with lifted truck. It squats when I hook up pretty bad but with 55psi in the bags all is perfectly level. Tows great!

Took advantage of the nice weather this weekend to setup the Andersen hitch and get a few other things done with the trailer. We’re going on a little trip this weekend so we’ll see how she tows.

@Bill what are the specs on the Airstream? Loaded weight, length, tongue weight. Interested to see your impressions with that hitch system.

We had the Andersen on our Casita and loved it. So easy to hook up and disconnect.

It’s a 25’ Globetrotter, so just under 26’ total length and with the truck I’m right at 49’ total length.

Mfg Specs are:
Base weight: 6,100
GVWR: 7,300
Tongue weight: 885 (heard this is closer to 1k in real life)

I haven’t had a chance to hit the scales yet to confirm the numbers. There is a scale near the dealership (~50 miles away) so next service I’ll try and load her up a bit so I can get a better feel for what the true numbers are.

I ordered the hitch when we were expecting delivery of the trailer and just not got around to installing it so we’ve done a few shorter pulls with my regular hitch and didn‘t have any issues. I wasn‘t that concerned with the WD aspects of the hitch it was the cheap insurance against sway that I was after. With that in mind the ease of setup and hookup were definitely selling points that pushed me to the Andersen in particular.

Let's see your rigs, talk camping and share favorite campgrounds. Here's my current setup. Its a 25 FBT Airstream. It has 900lbs tounge weight and weighs around 7300lb fully loaded. The wife and I love to camp at corps of engineers campgrounds, our favorite is Indian creek on Mark Twain lake in Monroe city, MO. Camping so far with all the new influx of campers hasn't been bad so far.
