Welcome! I am excited to announce that this is the first official Tremor Secret Santa Event! At the beginning of Oct I posted the thread gauging interest and we had enough interest that @modified agreed it would be a good event to start and hopefully, once successful, can become a annual tradition here! I have participated in this type of event on another truck forum and it was always fun to me to brighten a strangers holidays and watch others do the same! I will be the "elves" referred to in the rules. Please understand I am running this event basically on my own and will do my best to reply to any questions that may arise along the way as quickly as possible.

Yes this is a truck enthusiast forum, but gifts don't have to be limited to truck stuff only. A gift can be a handful of things from your region of the country(or a whole other country to those around the world if they choose to participate). It can be hobby related, family fun related, or anything as long as it follows the below posted rules. There are several links in this post, first is one to the google doc that I have set up for gathering information to send to the gifter's their recipients name/address/screenname. Also the form asks if you would like to be a backup Santa, this is a contingent list just in case someone signs up and doesn't ultimately participate. The second is a link to another thread that will be used for members to post their "Wishlist's" as well as a "proof of present" for when you RECEIVE your gift.

You can choose to post in the wishlist thread or not to. Some of the fun found in doing this is "stalking" your giftee, but if you choose not to post a wishlist the expectation is that you are a very active member that posts often about hobbies, sports, have a build thread with plans for your truck. Basically there needs to be a trail of bread crumbs for your SS to hunt and follow to get an idea of a surprise gift for you.

Secret Santa Sign Up!!!

Wishlist/Gift Proof Thread

You can send gifts as soon as you receive your name.

Everyone should hopefully receive their gifts BY Christmas. We understand there are often delays. If there is a serious delay, you will likely get a message that needs prompt response to. If you don’t respond, we will be ready with the ban-hammer and you’ll end up on the naughty list of naughty children. You could alleviate this by having a friend PM your recipient letting them know there is a delay.

NAME SUBMISSIONS CLOSE NOVEMBER 20th AT 12 Noon EST, NO EXCEPTIONS!

Participant qualifications:

Members must have joined before January 1st of the year participating. (Before 1/1/23 this year)

Members must have at least 100 posts by October 15th to be added to the list! Don’t BS your way to 100 if you have 28 currently. Just participate more in the community and join in the fun next year. We have the right to deny participation to anyone for any reason (unlikely to happen.). If someone gets banned for any reason while during the Secret Santa season and they are participating, they will be removed from the event and will be banned from future events.

ALL Supporting Members are eligible to participate regardless of the post count or join date.

Again, elves have the last say in all qualifications and rules.

Basic rules:

-DO NOT ANNOY THE ELVES. Poking elves can lead to being banned from the reindeer games in the future.

- Keep gifts PG-13 unless you know the recipient personally, lets not upset spouses or make things awkward for anyone…

- Absolutely NO WHINING!!! If you whine incessantly, you may face a ban from future events.

- YOU must do the legwork once pm'd. If you need help, ask a friend to help. The elves WILL NOT do your dirty work.

- You must send a gift to the name you get, no exceptions. The elves DGAF if you don’t like someone. Just be nice and send something.

- Once on THE LIST, you must send something REASONABLE to the name pm'd to you.

- Names will begin being pm'd out after Nov. 20th, plenty of time to get a gift for Christmas.

- You may be sending a gift out of the Country. There’s no opt out for this.

- There is no cap, you can be as generous as you wish but there is a $30 minimum for gifts excluding shipping costs. If you decide to go nuts and spend a ton of money, don't expect the same from your secret Santa.

- Mods and elves here on Tremor Forum take no responsibility if someone flakes and does not send a gift. We will do our best to fix it, since we will have their names/addresses…

- As long as you're on the commit list with full name AND handle, you will send AND receive a gift.

- Once a gift is received, please post a picture. Don’t make your SS sit there anxious and freaking out, wondering if a porch pirate snagged your booty. Please make sure to censor names and addresses to protect everyone’s privacy, or what little we have left nowadays. Please proactively check for packages but don’t whine daily about not receiving anything. It’s annoying and you don’t want to anger the elves.

- If possible, keep proof of the item being sent in case it's lost/stolen in the mail. At the very least, we can prove that it was sent out. The elves don’t need this information proactively.

- Once Nov 20th, 12 Noon EST is here, you can not back out of your commitment, to be fair. We use time stamps, don’t try to argue this.

- If you choose to send your gift in a box, it's your choice to wrap it or not. Recommendation is to not send it in the box it came in, as to ruin the surprise.

I attempted to fill out the sign up sheet but the field where our Forum name should be place is asking for an e-mail address.

Anyone run into this problem?

Santa doesn't visit Sin City 😂

Alright. Its 100% fixed. I just filled it out.

Hey @Shibbyjeep, man I hate to do this but with my schedule along with upcoming holidays, trips, and events I better respectfully withdraw from the Secret Santa as I can not guarantee I can give it 100%. Thank you for spearheading this as I am sure it will be a huge hit!

Hey, you have the easiest gift that meets the gift minimum value threshold that you could send your recipient - visor labels!

Ha, yep I can definitely do that and thought about it but figured it would be pretty obvious who it was from.

Who's to say someone might order a set anyways for a gift for someone else as well?

very true, good point

Yes, but they won't know that you're their secret santa until they get the decals. I expect at some point we'll reveal who got a gift from whom.

You can choose to reveal or not. In my experience I have always PM'd my giftee or been PM'd from my Santa.

A little over a week left to sign up. Tag any members you might think would be interested! Looking forward to a great inaugural year!
