Been riding off-road for 20+ years. When we moved back to Texas I switched to the adventure bike and been trying to hit one BDR route a year.

I started riding when I was 6 Honda 50, 2 great auto, black and yellow little bike. Went to the 3 great Honda 50 after that and learned that the front break wasn’t on the handle bars on that bike. I flew over the bars and landed next to the bike. Moved up to a Honda 100 enduro. Ride that bike till it wouldn’t start no more. Bought a Kawasaki 175 dirt bike and ride that till I sold it at 16. Didn’t ride again till I was 46. Bought a HD touring bike, rode it for 2 years then traded for a 2018 Honda Gold Wing, what an amazing bike it was. Also owned a HD V Rod that my wife wrecked at 70 mph. She broke her elbow and some rude rash but walked out of the hospital 2 days later. If she hasn’t had a helmet on she wouldn’t be here. Last time I ride it almost got hit 3 times in 3 miles. I sold it cause I was tired of being a target. Ride on brothers and be safe. I want to get an adventure bike or a SxS. Need a Kawasaki mule in reality to help with work on some acreage we own.

Oh dang, haven’t seen this one yet.

Started a while ago when my wife said “I should get a motorcycle to save gas” and it’s been downhill/uphill from there.

Started off with a 2004 Sportster.

That started everything. I bought it stock and it lived through several iterations.

Then finally a Hooligan Flat Track Bike

Running parallel, I bought a basket case 68 XLCH that I eventually sold the motor out for parts, bought a 73 XLCH motor and did up a full chopper. Put a lot of miles on that bike. Went through about three top ends too.

Had a 76 Ironhead for a hot second. Super nice bike in a Smith & Federow frame. Rode like it was on a cloud (well for a hard tail).

Then the 2003 sportster chopper I built from the ground up. Another really fun bike.

Got out of Harley’s when I moved to CO. Dirt bikes are a lot more fun and I’ve had quite a few here. Instead of bore you with all of them, one of the most gnarliest was a hot-rodded DRZ 400 Flat-tracker. This picture looks super cool but it was right before I high-sided and got a concussion. If you race, you know getting a bike that sideways that late in a corner is not a good thing..Finished racing that night but didn’t remember driving home…

Currently have a Beta 300RR, Beta 300 Xtrainer, Beta 525 RS and a PW80. Love riding single track anywhere I can. Also love riding with my wife and my youngest. My wife is 6 days off a broken leg and had surgery Friday from avoiding a head on collision while on the trail.

Thanks! It’s actually a DRZ. The story was that it was one of the first bikes built to run an MX style bike in competitive flat track. Before all the 450’s came in.

I’m a huge fan of 2 Wheels. I’ve had several dirt bikes growing up. Then had 4 Jap bikes before going with Harley Davidsons. I have 2004 Custom Fatboy with 18” Apes and a bad ass 30” Iron Cross sissy bar done up with a 96” stage 3 set up, 2020 CVO Limted Electraglide with a 117” Milwaukee 8 engine with 10 grand of mods to it (baddest bike) and sadly just gave my 2003 Ultra Classic Electraglide to one of my best friends.
I absolutely LOVE RIDING MY BIKES. I bought my wife a RM-80 when we were dating. Then bought her a 2000 Harley Softail in 2010. So we both have a Passion for riding.
She broke her Femur in 2017 and has 2’ rod that was drilled through and slid in the middle of her Femur. So she’s been riding BITCH now. I had a serious on the job accident myself, and hadn’t ridden since a COLD ? FINGERS RUN on New Years Day 2013. Just bought me the CVO in April and started riding this past season. 7+ year absence. Shit I’m a bit busted up but Dang it’s Awesome being on the road again.
We met in 1990 when I bought a Honda Intercepter 750 and needed a haircut. So I went in to a hair salon and she cut my hair, and I asked her if she wanted to go for a ride. That’s all it took and the rest is History.
Well anyway we watched a series with 2 seasons, back in the day called “Long Way Around” and “Long Way Down”. It’s a as bout Ewan Mc Gregor who with his buddy ride around the world on Enduros in Long Way Round.
In the Long way Down they ride their bikes from Scotland to the bottom of South Africa.
Well we just watched the first Episode of their 3rd Season, after 12 years hiatus called Long Way Up. They are riding Electric Harleys from the bottom of South America. Actually the southern tip of Argentina, up to California. On ELECTRIC HARLEYS. How the heck are they going to do it on 100 mile charge before charging it up again. This is real and is like a documentary.
Harley Davidson converted their Electric Street bikes to an Enduro style bike. They plan this trip with a crew for 3 months before a 3 month epic journey.
Never in my wildest dreams would I think I’d ever want an Electric motorcycle I actually want to get one seeing this freakin thing. Will I ride it much, Who knows. My boys would definitely be laughing up a storm if I went to the Biker joints we chill at with a Electric Harley that looks more like a Croch Rocket. But I pitty the fool who messes with me.
My 2020 Limited CVO was expensive but it is the sickest ride. Put a pair of 12” mini apes on it. Wish I would behave went 14”.
These series start off a bit slow before they start their journey. But it’s really cool. I loved Long Way Down. They rode past Pyramids through the jungles where there wasn’t any roads. Hung with Lions and gorillas and other crazy animals sleeping in tents in the jungles. It was sick. I haven’t watched the first 2 series in over a decade.
We watched only 1 episode of the Long Way Up tonight. It’s on Apple TV. We got a free yr subscription from our purchase of a new IPhone at the beginning of the yr. But we have Fire Sticks that’s hooked up so that we get all movies and tv shows
Now thought I’d share with my review of this really cool real life adventure.

So I also thought it would be a great thread to see all you sick F—ks with your Bikes and maybe your Old Lady’s. I’d love to hear some bike stories. Any of you who aren’t into it don’t read or follow this thread. If I have to explain it “You would never understand the life style”
??✌️???????????
1984 FXRS Low Glide (EVO/ 5 speed) with WG, Fat Bobs, full fenders and chain; bought it new. Had a 1974 Rickman and a XT500 long ago.

I should have guessed that. I've had 3 lol. Looks like the early 2000's E model.
Good eye. E-start was removed. Punched out to 437, like 14:1 compression with zero compressions release on the cam. Had to bump start it or risk taking your leg off kicking it.

Lol, those kick starts can bite ya. I had a 05' with Eddie's sisneros speed works 434 bb kit, top end and pumper carb put on and mrd exhaust. Sounded like a helecopter at idle. Drove from iowa, he did the whole thing including new tires and sprockets in one morning. I rode the mountains for a couple days then trailered back home. Here's one of my drzs with my busa.

Real quick everyone - did you know Jesus was a Harley rider? It says so in the bible! "he was always walking from here to there" :)
Love the rides guys. This was reason for the F250 to begin with. i needed something to pull the trailer so I can do this! View attachment 7395
Actually it was Moses in the Old Testament something about tablets and coming down from the mountains on a Triumph ;)

You guys must be talking with Howard.

I started out my riding experience at age 12 with an ‘86 Kawasaki KX 80 and evolved to a ‘91 Suzuki RM 125 dirt bike. Then driving age hit, and I sold the bike and got a pickup truck. After college I decided I missed riding and found an ‘81 Honda CB 400 Custom with about 1500 miles on it that I got for like $700. eBay was new at the time and the retired guy I bought it from had been messing around online and managed to mistakenly buy some little scooter. His wife was pissed and she wanted one of the bikes gone. I was happy to help her. 😁
Anyway I got my license and rode that bike for a few years. Then marriage came and my bike went. I didn’t have the time and she wasn’t overly “pro bike,” so I sold it and was fine for a few years.
A few years back my brother in law and a bunch of friends and I were all hanging out around our camp and we all started talking about how great it would be to have some street and trail bikes to ride around on the literally thousands of miles of dirt roads in the north central part of Pennsylvania. Well years passed and we still didn’t have any. This summer, three of us were on standing the porch and bringing the subject up again when I said “hey we are all 40 or older at this point. We’re not getting any younger. If we’re going to do this, then let’s actually do this. I’m deciding right here and now that I’m going to get something to ride up here before I’m too old to enjoy getting the snot beat out of me on the dirt roads and trails.”
Well three days later I had (somehow) convinced my wife that this was a good plan, and I called up a dude I went to high school with and staked claim to a motorcycle that was soon to be delivered.
Well I picked up my 22 KTM 500 EXC-F Six Days last week and I’m loving every second of it. It’s basically a dirt bike with lights and signals to make it road legal. I drove it enough in the first day to require the first oil and filter change, (wow the amount of krud, metal, and silicone in the break in oil) and I’ve been tearing it up ever since. I forgot how much fun a dirt bike can be. I’m glad to be back in the motorcycle mix yet again!
