I am working on F350 Tremor build with a 4 wheel hawk camper in the bed. Given the tailgate is removed when installing a 4 wheel camper, does anyone have a good solution for how to relocate the F350 tailgate camera onto a 4 wheel camper so trailer assist backup feature still works properly?

This would be pretty difficult to do to be honest. Your best bet would probably be to go to the Ford dealer and get the small harness that goes inside the tailgate. Cut off and tape up the connectors you don’t need. Heat shrink on each cut wire would be best. Also get a Ford camera and mount it as close as you can to where it mounts on the tailgate. It then has to be aligned using the dealer scan tool and two huge checkered mats. This may not work mainly because it would be so difficult to get the camera in the right spot but at the very least you’d be able to have your usual camera pop up. This is coming from a Ford tech point of view. I have no idea if there are aftermarket ways of doing this but it will most likely have to be configured at the dealer no matter which way you go with it.

I have the camera source kit for my 360 cameras, when I put the camper on I simply unplug the tailgate camera and plug in the camera mounted to the camper. It works the same way as if I had the tailgate camera on although there are some 'dead' spots in the 360 view when it stitches them together. Never used trailer backup assist so don't know if it would work with it.

The camera source kit I have came with a Ford OEM camera. The Fakra cable it came with was way too long so purchased shorter ones on ebay.
