2022 F250 Tremor (Coming soon)
Was ready to take our TT for first trip behind the Tremor. Trailer 7 pin connector is loose and will not sit firmly. Throwing trailer faults on the dash. I have moved the trailer before once with Tremor and don’t recall this being an issue. Even set up the trailer on the dash before today. The trailer pin sits firmly into the connector on suburban. Just loose on the Tremor. Anyone experienced similar?Looks like the suburban is pulling today… darn it.

FWIW, I’m usually able to get the plug to stick and stop throwing errors if I just play with it enough.

I don’t have any tricks for resolving permanently. It’s an issue with every trailer I plug into this thing.

So I wrapped electrical tape on male end to make it fit more snug.fits firmly now… guess will see how it holds up on the trip. Fingers crossed.

I’ve not had any issues with the 7pin which all my trailers are setup for. Did have an issue with the 4/5 pin moving a buddies boat from lift to winter storage. Think his trailer wiring was jack up, but caused quite the warning alerts on dash and even jacked with my truck blinks (rapid like a bulb was out). I was concerned I had messed something up on my truck lights because of the trailer wiring, but thankfully once I unhooked, everything went back to normal.

Are there direct, easy replacement options should these receptacles crap out?

If your trailer has a molded plug, consider knifing if off and putting on a replacement plug. I've seen 10+ molded plugs that work ok with one tow vehicle and throw codes with another. It's cheap and easy to try first.
