Trading in my 21 F350 7.3 Tremor Lariat for a 24 F350 6.7 Powerstroke HO Tremor Lariat

I picked up my new 6.7 today, and it is a great truck. However, I keep noticing little places Ford keeps cutting back, yet the truck gets more expensive. My 21 had the ability to fold down the rear storage from either side; now, you have to go to both sides and release the bracket. I know it's not a huge deal, but all of these little things start to eat at me. Okay, I'll stop whining now.

Maybe it's time for Farley to go?

I thought I remembered hearing about a diesel fuel discount card, are you using something similar?
If you live anywhere near a truck stop, look into the “Open Roads” fuel program/card. It’s literally free money. They take 10% of the savings, and it’s well worth it. I average $0.60 per gallon less using thier card. So I get $0.54 off per gallon and pay them $.06 per gallon. I save about $15-$20 per fill up.

Can you use any diesel pump at the gas station/truck stop or do you need to fuel up in the semi lane?

Just pull into the diesel spot at the normal pumps. I did use a semi lane once on a road trip. They have hi flow pumps, and it filled my 60 gallon tank very fast! But every day use, just the diesel pump that’s usually on the normal gas pumps as well. You’ll love the diesel!

If you are using the card, you need to use the “fleet” pumps. Usually these are the semi pumps, but it depends on the truck stop.

The ability to use the semi lanes at the truck stop makes towing so much better with a diesel. Forget the power and fuel economy differences, not having to jack-knife your gasser into a spot behind some Jetta is so nice.

Hi-flow pumps are even more magical.

As far as the fleet cards that can save you money, there weren’t any stations close to where I live, so not worth my time to chase one down. Could possibly be good on a road trip, but really depends on where you live and availability.

You’ll love the 6.7.

For fuel I use upside. It’s money back - probably have earned about $100 year in cash back on fuel. I drive about 11K per year. You can shop around your area for the best price. I also use it at grocery and hardware stores.

I’ll ad my referral link below if anyone wants to true it.

Not sure about OP, but i signed up. Strangely, hundreds of stations around me and no deals show up on gas within 50 miles. Hoping that will change. Edit: for some reason cash back on gas doesn’t work in NJ, maybe some state law prohibits it.

I drove from St. George to see my Daughter in Yuma, AZ to get a feel for the diesel and what a difference. My 21 7.3 was getting around 9.5 miles to the gallon (might have been on the pedal a little) the 6.7 high output got 18.9 on this trip so far. Crazy.

Sounds about right. (y)

Weird. I wonder if NJ blocks it for fuel. I just did some scanning with my app in NJ and see restaurants only. Sorry, bud. It must be a NJ thing. At least you can use it for cash back at Jersey Mike’s! 😜

I just noticed this kit requires you to relocate the adaptive cruise sensor. *Adaptive Cruise Sensor relocation required
Get a relocation bracket and it is simple. Having to relocate the ACC was not as bad as I thought it would be when I installed the new front bumper. After relocating, leave the grill off for any adjustments, get it as close to 0° as you can and point straight forward. First drive was a little off, used Forscan to reset/recalibrate and no issues.

Why is forscan required though if you set it to exactly the same angle as it was before? Just curious. And is there a specific function in forscan for this reset?

If you can get it real damn close, then no need for Forscan. I was off on my left to right aim, and it just didn't seem to want to line up. There is a setting in Forscan to reset it and then another to start recalibration - basically start and then drive for 10 to 15 minutes with traffic, signs, etc for it to recalibrate. I would have to go out to garage and pull notes.

My first trip out, I was aimed low, adjusted with washers to get it 0° and 0.1° (looking at it left bolt and right bolt). It worked perfect until I went to put the grill back on and needed to move it back to allow room. No matter what, it was grabbing the vehicles in lanes next to me instead of in front. I was hoping not to have to, but just bit the bullet with Forscan reset, drove around and it's back to normal.

Thank you for the details. I’m looking at reallocation job coming up soon and of course reading this it is making me a little nervous lol.

Thanks, I saw that one. I was hoping to find a mount that would allow me to use something like the Badlands or anything else under 2k.
By the time you buy an after market bumper and a winch, and then have all that heavy crap hanging out in front of your truck, just get the Ford/Warm winch that fits.

That is not how it works. You use the OEM bumper with both the Warn winch from Ford or the direction I am talking about that would use a mount for about $300.00-$500.00 and a Badlands 12,000k winch for about $600.00, but you can usually get a 20 percent of coupon from HF.

So, you would be looking at around $1000k vs. $3500-$4000 from Ford, depending on whether it is self-installed or not.

Check marketplace and craigslist for the OEM winch. I found mine (never used takeoff from a 23MY) for $1500 and put it on myself in an afternoon.
