Right now I have a xlt premium with leather heated and cooled seats and really has all I want or need but LED headlights and dual zone ac would be nice to have. The hard part is dropping another ten grand or so and not that I can’t afford it but it just the fact of paying that much is what is hoping me back
Those that have had a xlt and went to a lariat have you wished you would have just stayed with a xlt and saved the money for other mods ?

I went from a lariat to an XLT. I can tell you that overall the only thing I really miss is the leather seating - but this cloth seems pretty robust and not uncomfortable by any means. Some of the other bells and whistles that come with the lariat were nice, but no tears shed for not having them (memory seats, power adjustable back rest, power adjustable pedals).

Overall verdict for me is that my XLT came very well equipped and in reality I can get very nice leather seat covers for less than half of the up charge to lariat.

The non-leather steering wheel of the XLT is a complete non-issue for me. But even a lariat steering wheel could be added to the aftermarket leather seat covers for less than the lariat packages.

I drive XL's and XLT's at work and didn't want my POV to feel like a work truck. So, I went for the Lariat Ultimate Package. The Black Appearance Package was added mainly for the LED headlights because the halogen lights on our work trucks are terrible. I don't know if its possible to get the LED headlights on the XLT? If it is then I highly recommend getting them or switching out the halogen for aftermarket headlights on the XLT.

went from a 2019 lariat ccsb 6.7 4 wheel drive to a 2021 xlt 6.7 The wife misses the power seat , me i like simple stuff if i could get it with a/c crank windows rubber floor mats radio and a manual trans i would be so happy lol. I am happy with the xlt all kidding aside only thing i miss is the leather seats .

I had two XLTs prior to my Lariat Tremor. The sport package, leather, and LED lights were musts for me. So I’m happy.

Pretty much the same here. Went from a 2015 Lariat to a 2020 XLT.

I miss the leather and the auto climate (surprisingly) but it wasn’t a deal breaker at the price point. And I still may add the leather, we’ll see.

Had an ultimate lariat on a 2016 and my last two have been XLT with premium package. Never cared for HOT leather seats in Texas summers and prefer cloth seats. Only downfall to the cloth seats is they stain easier. You can always add an LED light bar to the front (if you want it for off-road). AC controls always go to the person that’s driving in my trucks anyhow ?

We purposely did not want leather seats, so the XLT was the only choice. It's as loaded as one can get otherwise. It even has heated seats. The only thing I do miss is the leather steering wheel. Oddly, it's not even a option. Even my old 2001 Dodge had it as a stand alone option.

As for the steering wheel I noticed that on my Lariat & Raptor that the Calluses on my hands used to wear the leather on the wheel . But the leather was more comfortable on the hands for sure . As for changing out the wheel on one of the other SD forums I belong to a lot of guys were changing to a raptor steering wheel and were able to use the paddle shift function on the wheel , not sure what all was involved I know it had to have a extra harness that one of the members was making/selling and was a plug and play set up , except for the guys with adaptive steering the wheel it self had some kinda air bag fit issues .

The difference between the base MSRP of an F350 Tremor Lariat and an XLT is $6K, not $10K. And if you consider that there's probably not many folks buying, or dealers ordering, a 100% base XLT the margin is even narrower. When I was considering a lower spec Tremor order the margin between the XLT I could live with, and my modest Lariat Value package build was more like $3K.

I've said it before on here, but it's really too bad Ford doesn't offer more content on the low/mid-level Super Duty trims. Heck, an F150 STX is totally livable. And you can order an F150 XLT that's basically akin to a high spec Lariat Super Duty. Strange.

I was dead set on an XLT before the 2022MY changes. The 2022MY got rid of the interior color I wanted for my XLT and it became clear you couldn't get Sync 4 with the XLT - only Lariat and up. Made me second guess my decision.

I've never had anything beyond a base level vehicle before and couldn't care less about leather interior. For me it came down to the features I needed. I've heard mixed reviews about the halogen to LED bulb swap - beam pattern and legality. So I was planning to swap out for the full OEM LEDs ($3k). I spend most of my time in areas without cell signal so the added nav features within Sync 4 were a strong selling point for me. There are also some cool lighting upgrades that come with Sync 4 that work well for me since I spend 99% of my nights camping. Once there's an aftermarket swap out I'd imagine it'd be >$2k based on the Sync to Sync 3 upgrades. Swapping out the leather steering wheel is also $400.

Aside from the above, the Lariat Ultimate Package adds a lot of features for the price - remote start, intelligent access w push start, ambient lighting, seat and pedal memory presets, etc. Also allows you to add on things like adaptive cruise control - which many seem to swear by.

After accounting for the price of changes I intended to make the cost of upgrading to a Lariat was $1,000-2,000. For my personal needs that price justified the other items like leather interior, better sound system, easy exit/entry seats, etc. Also, reading many posts on the various forums that the Lariat typically retains value quite a bit better than the XLT helped solidify that decision.

Decided to buy once, cry once, and just be done with it.

I went from a decently equipped 2015 F150 XLT, to my 2021 F250 Lariat Tremor and I am super happy with my decision. It would have cost me more money to modify an XLT than it was to just order a Lariat with the options I wanted. I spec'ed an XLT and Lariat when I was getting ready to order my truck and by the time I added options to the XLT the difference in price was about $5k. Once I added the black appearance pack and looked at the extra options I got with the Lariat and it was an easy decision for me since LED lights, and blacking out the truck were must haves for me. The extra comforts in the Lariat are nice, especially for the couple of long trips we take every year with the truck.

yep...same here....speccing out an XLT the way I want it and a Lariat Value are a wipe. Hell, the XLT actually wound up being more expensive and still didn't have all the things I want from the Lariat Value like the cooled seats. So a Lariat Value it's going to be.

Kind of what I’ve been seeing , idk why they don’t just make some of the things stranded on all trucks these days really. Leather is a lot better in the heat to me than the cloth seats and the ass coolers are a must and also the upgraded led lights are too. I put some led is my xlt now and they are the greatest for $450 but work ok. I am seeing that ford still has the 2021 up in there site to order but I have sceen where some have ordered 2022 already so I’m not sure how they are doing that. Looks like ordering a lariat is the way I’m going to be going unless I can find a killer deal on a xlt.

The 2022 order banks opened on March 15th, so you can only order a 2022 now. from what I am seeing from people who have posted their order sheets, compared to the online builder, it looks like option prices are pretty much the same and only the base truck went up a few $100's.
If I could get the cooled seats in an XLT I would probably get that, but I also want the better stereo system, so the lariat Value will give me what I want and includes a bunch of things I would have to separately option on a XLT. Once I built out both trucks and saw the price was basically a wash for me, I'm going Lariat.
I'd like the LED's but I'm not willing to pay the price for what you have to do to get them. I don't want black interior, so that knocks out the black pkg, and I don't see the Ultimate as a good value for me since there are so many things in the Ultimate that I don't care about and don't want to pay for. And I agree that in this day and age, LED lights should be standard.
I've decided that since I'm going to order a truck, I'm going to get what I want and not pay for the things I don't.

And if that makes me a prissy bitch......so be it :p

Yeah I have the loaded xlt. The leather steering wheel should come with the premium package. Don’t understand why it doesn’t
