So I installed a retrax pro. I want to put a in bed tool box that will fit and not interfere with the 5th wheel hitch. Has anyone found or had one made that will fit.

I have a Knaack under my Diamondback.
Dunno if it will work for you but I would think so.
Even if some scumbags got the Dback open the
Knaack would really frustrate them.

This probably isn’t what you’re looking for but I used a 160L Roam Adventure case and I have it strapped down. It’s nice because I can easily take it out if I need the extra space. I have the Bakflip MX4 though.

I don’t have a 5th wheel, but I do have a retrax, and I went with the swing out box, only on the right side. Love it so far. Easiest install ever.

Looks great. Where did you get it? I'm having problems locating one.

I have asked this question before also. Right now I am using 3 traditional style tool boxes that fit perfectly under the Retrax, however they won’t fit with the drain hoses and if the hoses aren’t removed they will break. Others have posted using 5 gallon storage boxes from Home Depot that will fit between the drain hoses, but again need to be careful of sliding bouncing so they don’t break the drain hoses off.

I like how Amazon's garage says it doesn't fit the application even though they are the same. I'm looking at this too, although slightly skeptical as to the durability. Let us know how it holds up.
That's weird, says it will work for me ?‍♂️

I read the durability reviews as well. I think they may have had issues from overloading. While they say it will hold up to 75 pounds of gear, I feel that would be way too much. I am leave my d-ring shank and shackles in a bag under the back seat since they are the heaviest. I have my two tow/snatch straps, collapsible shovel, ratchet straps and gloves in there and feel that should work.

I will be sure to post back if I start to get any cracking etc and then also weigh what I actually had in it.

Erik

I believe the Pelican cases mount in such a way to enable this. Planning to look into it at some point.

I like this idea. Why did you have to remove the taillight?

I secured my box with a ratchet strap to keep it from moving. I don’t frequently access it though.

I ordered this for below my factory Retrax. I'll let you know how it turns out.

I got my 83L box from Roam after a 3 month wait. Fits well under my Retax (Ford) tonneau box. Holds my BW hitch (with pin taken out), jumper cables, ratchets and Ford/Warn recovery kit with some room to spare. Barely fits between the drain tubes. Looking at getting an OEM Ford bed mat or tray for a little less slippage and easier to clean deer blood off.

I like it! Hopefully it won’t slide and break off the drain tube.

I went with a slightly different route. I want a ton of storage that is secure from ill-prepared or opportunistic thieves. It won't stop a well prepared thief, but it sure would give them a hard time, as well as require some power tools to get in. To be fair, not much of anything will stop a well prepared thief.

The box is a UWS TBC-62-WN-BLK big boy tool chest. I replaced the factory lock with a Medeco cam lock and added a hasp and puck lock with a Medeco core. The box sits underneath a Truxedo Truxport tonneau cover. The cover is cheap and cheerful while providing vanishingly little physical security. The two deciding factors for that choice is 1: it will accommodate a 62" wide tool chest, and 2: it hides the tool chest. Physical security would've been a plus, but I don't think it's all that necessary for my purposes. There's plenty enough security with the tool box itself.

Sorry for the bad first picture. It is super dusty.

Been eyeing this one, looks great and has enough space for some tools and some plug wires.
