Wondering what tonneau covers you guys are running with and why or if there are ones that you have had on previous trucks that you will or will not purchase again?

I have a Bak Revolver on my current truck. I like how I have nearly full bed access but the felt underlining glue melts in the summer heat. Undecided if I will get another.

Several prior posts on this. Various options. various opinions. Get what fits your use profile. I've got a diamondback. Great cover. bullet proof. protects my gear. but limits the use of the bed for bed purposes and irritates my wife because of it

MX4 has my first vote. I love it and everyone else does too.

Would be happy to get you hooked up on any tonneau cover on the market. We carry it all. Just shoot us a message!

Thanks, I know it blocks the window but how about the CHMSL & bed camera?

I was looking at the Truxedo Sentry and Bak Revolver X4 because I liked the fact I could see out the back window when open, but I didn't like the vinyl top. I was also looking at the Diamondback because I liked the rugged quality, but wanted open bed access and 1 person removal. I ended up ordering the Undercover ArmorFlex Hard Folding. Has a rhino line type coating on top for durability, and allows you to see out the back with 2 folds open, but not the third.

I have an Extang solid fold 2.0 on my dually and I'm not super in love with it but I don't hate it either. I like that it folds up and clips into place and I can still see out of the back window. I like that it can be completely removed from the truck relatively easy. I like that I can stand on it while washing the front cap of my camper. I wouldn't consider it the most secure bed cover - if someone wanted to get into it, they could by forcefully lifting the back part of the cover and breaking the clamps. It does also shift slightly sometimes requiring adjustment but I've never felt like it moved enough to where I thought would lose it off the truck or anything.

Debating the same thing for the Tremor when I get it - I did get the hitch prep in the Tremor and it's a short bed so whatever I get needs to fold up enough to where it doesn't obstruct my ability to hitch the camper to it without having to take it off.

That Bak Revolver looks interesting. Looks similar to the Ford soft tonneau that rolls up like that - the Ford one seems to roll up and obstruct close to half the back window though where this one is a little lower profile it appears.

Bakflip MX4 for me as well. I liked the retrax but I couldn’t commit to losing 13” of bed space up front even though it likely sound never be an issue. Plus the MX4 is significantly cheaper.

Around here (ND.), may guys run the Access Cover. Overall quality is really good, simple to install and they last. Our weather has extreme changes from winter to summer and they hold up very well. We can have - 50 or more with the wind chill and hot and humid in the summer. Plus the company is really good to deal with too, which is a plus. They are sold all over including ebay and prices are decent too.

I have an Access Literider on my current truck. Like them so much I've directed several of my buddies to buy the same. Fantastic value for the money. Think mine was about $350 a few years ago. Small truck accessory shop out of NC used to have killer prices on them, but I'd have to dig into it to find out who that is again.

Oh I should have added, I currently have the Access "Vanish" but I have also had the "Original" as well. Like I said before....No complaints!!

I have been debating between the BakFlip F1 and the Bak Revolver X4 for my 2021 on order. I have an F1 on my current truck, so I know it’s advantages and issues. I like how it looks, but I do not like how it blocks my rear window when opened fully. It also leaks at the panel seams and the tailgate when it rains really hard.

The Revolver solves the rear window viewing problem, but several folks online have reported issues with the felt on the bottom falling off in the hot weather. The consensus is the felt is not used to hold the aluminum slats together, but to allow you to close it on not days without burning your hands.

With that in mind, I called Bak and talked with their customer service department about the X4 issues. They claim they had a bad batch of glue from a supplier which caused the problem for several runs of the Revolvers before they caught the problem. They have since changed suppliers and she said they have not experienced the issue with Revolvers built recently. Since I really want to try something besides the BakFlip, I ordered the Revolver X4 today on the last day or their 15% off Cyber week special.

If the felt fails over the summer in Texas , I will use their 5-year warranty to have it replaced as often as needed.

Yea, I have the X2 and aside from the felt glue issue it’s held up pretty well for the last 3.5 yrs. keeps the bed pretty dry in some pretty hard rain also.

I have a Retra Pro XR on the Tremor. I had a Retrax on my F150 and really liked it. It's very convenient for everyday use and can be used to hold down long items (vs tying them down) as the cover can be locked in any position.

Downsides - it's not water tight but the XR seems better. I think they improved the seals under the rails and the box it rolls into takes up a bit of space at the front of your bed, and of course it's expensive. But for my use it seems to be the best I could find.

Did you get yours replaced or did you just remove the felt altogether?

EDIT: If you have had yours for 3.5 years and had glue issues, their story about a bad batch of glue might be stretching the truth a bit, since others have reported it as recently as late 2019.

No I kinda slapped it back on..... but now I’m not worried to much since I’m waiting on my Tremor, have a 1/4/21 build week! But I do really like the security of it plus not losing to much of the bed and visibility out the back.
