I found a local shop that gave me a fair quote on installing the Viair 20185 Dual Stealth Black 485C Air System.

I also purchased the mounting brackets separately.

This is the same system that forum member @erikswedberg recently had installed.

After looking at the install pics that Eric provided, the shop manager said it was a very clean install and they could do the same work.

It's my first time having a shop do any work for me. I did all the upgrades on my Corvette myself.
Currently, I don't have the tools and workspace for this Viair install.

So, I'm kinda freaking out and hope they do a good job.

Wish me luck!

Good luck. I like that set up. I bet it goes fine. I’m sure you didn’t pick some random place.
You are right. I picked a place that has been in business for many years and has a good reputation.

I will be going with this exact set up. Best location for OBA I have seen IMO. I have shown my local shop and they think they can do the same. Parts are in. Hopefully install next week.

I got to the shop 30 minutes early ? Just waiting for them to open the front door.

Looks like @erikswedberg is a trendsetter!

I apologize for the dumb question but what will this do or allow you to do? Just curious
It allows you to fill up tires, run air tools, blow the truck off when it gets dusty, air up water toys, run air lockers, fill up air bags, etc., etc.

Good choice! Mine arrived a month ago and it is 5th in line in my current lineup of mods sitting in boxes in the garage. Picking the easier ones first like the tonneau cover, floor liners, bed rug, bedside steps, cargo liner, seat covers, power running boards, and winch. I’ll install this when I put the airbags in. Thanks for the mounting ideas.

All done!

Wow these guys started at 9 AM, took a 30 minute lunch break, and finished just before 4 PM. They had experience installing compressors for airbags but this was the first time that they installed a dual air system. The original quote from the day I walked into the shop was honored at $500 plus tax and that included parts. I really am impressed with the shop and the people.

The compressors are super quiet and I am very happy with the whole system and experience.

The shop is called Texas Tops. They are family owned and operated. Here is their Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/texastopsofmcallen

I will post some pics tomorrow and might make a quick vid.

Thanks for this forum and all the knowledge to complete this project!

Plus you can run some killer train horns off this system as well.
