What's the widest tire that anyone has put on the stock rims without doing any rubbing or trimming? I'm want to either run 35x12.5-18 or 325/65-18 but wanted it keep my stock rims if possible...but it's looking like a no go on the stockers. The 285/75-18's just look to skinny for me...lol. Love the Goodyear DuraTrac's and have been running them for years on my 2011 F250. usually get about 50-60,000 miles on a set.

The search feature on this forum is decent and this issue has been talked into the ground.

The width of the tire will not be an issue for the wheel well at stock circumference. If you want 12.5" on your wheel, if will work, but you're on your own if anything happens as a result. People will say they've been doing it since the '60's, nevertheless no major distributor will mount that size. Otherwise, all you need to do is run whatever calculator a given site has and you can see all the different combinations that will fit.

You guys can checkou out my previous posts on my 315/70r18s, waranteed by Discount.

LonesemTX254,

I wouldn't recommend 35x12.5-18s on stock rims. I did this last year and it caused the tire to wear unevenly despite my best efforts to control with tire pressure. I would recommend a different rim, one that can handle the increased tire width. The stock rims are 8" wide and most 35x12.5 run best on 9-10" width rims, why Ford decided to go with such a narrow rim is beyond me. Attached are some pictures shortly after I swapped tires on factory rims. Hope this helps

For my next set I am eye balling the Mickey Thompson Baja Boss AT 305/70r18
They are one of the few 305 width tires I see that are approved for an 8” wheel.
I like the factory wheels, and I like the height of the truck stock. Having 1/2” more rubber sticking out the side would be about right for me.
I am looking forward to seeing reviews of this tire in the future before I wear out my duratracs.

That’s exactly what I’m doing for my next set.

Did you go with the MT 305/70r18? Did they rub?

Are you saying these pics are of the 12.5's? And after running them you wouldn't recommend? Or are these a different size that you like? Thanks!
