This feature coming to the Super Duties as well?

I think it will help keep people from overloading their F150’s. It’s definitely an interesting concept and after some refinement will hopefully be useful.

Let’s put a onboard generator in an f150 before we add it to the f250 and ⬆️ lineup! ?‍♂️
I think they usually do new tech in the F-150 lineup to validate it. Super Duty needs to be a more stable and reliable platform because of use case, so F-150 gets it first to validate the idea and work out the kinks, then it moves up.

We’ve seen this with aluminum bodies, 10 speed transmission (yes, the Super Duty 10 speed is “totally new”, but I bet they learned a ton from the F-150 first that applied to the Super Duty design), pretty sure the tailgate step, etc.

Only things that aren’t validated in the F-150 first are things that don’t make sense in the F-150. New Power Stroke engine, the new 7.3L engine, PTO, etc.

Edit: also Sync 4, center console worktop, fold flat seats, etc.

Nope, don't like it. I feel like it's a control feature. I realize what I just said, and control is a stretch, but .. at the end of the day, after all the .. but its for your own good. I don't like it.

Saw a guy put a full pallet of concrete in the back of a F150 today. He needs this feature more than I do.
One of the reasons why I got rid of my tundra. Couldn’t carry everything I needed. Nothing like splitting a pallet of concrete in half and having to make 2 trips.

It does sound like a useful and neat feature. The skeptical side of me says it will break or be inaccurate over time. And with the remote monitoring and tech on these trucks it could be used against you in an accident.

exactly ..

Let's put breath analyzers on every vehicle ignition as well.

I'm kidding... I don't like the idea of either. To much of a "control" factor. Let someone overload their f150 with a full stack of bricks that's his problem.

I'm always wondering what my trailer tongue weight is, so I think it would be awesome technology to have. Likewise when we travel it would be nice to know exactly what weight is in the back + hitch weight.

I wouldn't want to share that information back with Ford though!

You know they sell tongue weight scales right? They're like $120.

I just ordered this thing from Amazon. Arrives later today. Will report back. Hopefully can reverse engineer to figure out their voodoo. It claims 95% accuracy. If it works and I can figure out how I’ll build us a little app to do this that we can use with any OBD II scanners and CarPlay.

If you have a weigh safe hitch it will do that for you as well. Never really cared about how much weight the trailer weighed, I just looked at how level it was or wasn't and adjusted. After getting a new truck, I did get the weighsafe as I was curious to how useful or accurate it would be. So far its fairly accurate
