My Tremor should be here in a few weeks and I want to get ahead of the game and get rear airbags ordered to help with my 5th wheel squatting the Tremor. What are some of the best kits out there? Currently looking at Ride-Rite and Air Lift. Has anyone put one of these on their Tremor?

I am having mine delivered this week and I am looking for the same thing. I found a blog that had a lot of talk about Firestone having a good kit.

I installed some upper torklift stableloads the other day. Haven’t towed with it yet, because our fifth wheel is getting a new fridge at the dealer, but I did put it down on our hitch in the parking lot and it made a difference from when I towed without them. Im still undecided on them, since I haven’t had a chance to tow it, but here are the pics for comparison. For reference we have a 350G, haven’t weighed it yet but with a generator upfront I’m thinking it’s probably around 2800 lbs pin weight.

*after several days of driving with them unloaded, the stable loads are coming off. If you always have a load in the bed they probably wouldn’t be bad. If you drive unloaded the majority of the time like me, with the half inch or so of travel you have between the stable loads and the overload springs I find I’m constantly hitting them over small bumps in the road and it makes the truck drive like a sh*tbox. Even my wife commented about it after driving it through the neighborhood. Will be switching to airbags shortly.

What airbag kit are you going with?

Went with the airlift 5000 ultimate+ Stainless hardware to make it last a little longer. Daystar lower cradles to keep articulation.

I chose Airlift 5000 with the Internal Joust Bumper and Stainless Hardware. Basically, instead of the Plastic Air Line you get Braided Stainless Line, thats a nice upgrade. Haven't installed it yet. Having the 7.3, I'd like the Air Bag Fill Valves to be behind the Gas Lid. If I can .. ?? Haven't gotten that far ..

Depending on how often you will be adjusting the bags, you may want to go with one of the Airlift Wireless kits. It makes it so much easier to adjust on the fly. I had a kit with the setup on my F150. Need to pull, hit a button and at 25 psi. Get there, unhook and going to be driving around, hit a button and back to 5 psi. Pulling with a full fresh tank, hit a button and adjust. Pulling out of my damn driveway, hit a button and at 50 to have clearance, get on road and hit a button and back to 25. I have a portable compressor, so could have manually adjusted, but to me the convenience was worth the expense.

This is the kit that I used on my 150:

Agree with above, so glad I sprang for the compressor kit. Mine's the dual path kit as I carry a truck camper. I also did something a bit unconventional as I installed my compressor and manifold in the cab. I live in Alberta so wanted some protection for it. Link to my install below.

you have a link or model number for the Daystar cradles?

I realize this was an old thread that was revived, but I wanted to mention the Daystar Cradles will void your lifetime warranty on the Air Lift airbags. (As they probably will with any of the airbags from other vendors)

I have the Air Lift Ultimate 5000 airbags, the WirelessOne controller/compressor and the Daystar Cradles. I had an issue with one of my airbags at installation, so I called to have it replaced. During the conversation, I mentioned the cradles and was told they voided the lifetime warranty because they are not an authorized accessory made by Air Lift. They replaced my airbag anyway, as he agreed the cradles had nothing to do with the failure. I have not had a single issue since the replacement was installed, and yes, I still recommend Air Lift as I feel it was an isolated problem.

Airbag Failure at Installation

A word to the wise, if you call for a replacement airbag, you should not mention extra parts, like Daystar Cradles. ;)

EDIT: Here is my parts list, all purchased on Amazon. Note, the airbag kit is different if you have the factory suspension, as they ride on top of the lower bump stop.

IMO of your having to put bags on a truck to tow a 5’er then you need a 350 or 450
I have a xlt with the over loads from the factory and I have a 36’ wildcat that’s around 2800 pin weight and my payload is 2400 and some change and I know I’m over weight by quite a bit and still my truck doesn’t squat any it’s level.

If you want to safe yourself the trouble of installing a compressor the Milwaukee m12
Compressor works great for adjusting pressure
