Looks like fun! add an aftermarket exhaust and some custom Rotoform wheels and you have an imitation "Shelby" Tremor Wonder if John Lund can get you a tune on that beast????

Whipple wont be left out of the game. This is on their website. So curious how they handle inlet temps/heat soak during extended towing.

Being mechanically challenged , but want to beef up my truck, is there an order of completion if I want to put, k&n cold air intake, performance exhaust/borla , muffler set up and possibly supercharge. That being said, with only 1000 miles mainly town but a couple hundred highway miles,,, milage sucks ytd 8.7, my diesel got 15 mpg and with my 50 gallon Titian tank, 800 miles was no problem, 350 miles seems about the extent of this current gas hog

I guess that all depends on the girth of your wallet! In my mind the exhaust will be first. A CAI is not on my list, the stock is pretty good minus all of the sound chambers, plus if I do go with a whipple SC it wont be used anyhow. Tuning would be next but I am a little leery so far to do so for warranty concerns. It is a new engine so if there is an issue I don't want Ford to have an excuse to deny a claim...

On the mileage concern, if I only drive city stop and go I'm getting 10-12. On the highway between 13-15. My computer has worked its way all the up to 11.9 avg since new with just under a thou on it. It is a big gas engine pushing around an 8,000lb truck, it aint going to get diesel MPG #s... My 08' diesel avg's around 18 with a tow tune.

I'm curious to see how robust the rods are, I've heard rumors they like to spit them out of the block. Hopefully vct will help enough to bleed off low speed cylinder pressure. If not, a cam change or rods will be needed.

No doubt. I'm waiting on a few to hit the scrapyards. A few companies are working on head port programs and I suspect a few will come out with some quality rods and pistons. Then to build an intake manifold and strap twin 80's on it for the mustang :devilish:

I was really happy to see a 60mm cam bore for a stiff foundation for the valvetrain. Billet main caps may be needed, but that's an easy kill.

The Procharger isn’t real designed for the F250’s yet. But the charger by Whipple will be.

Zero chance an aftermarket Super charger will be covered under FORD warranty.
I bet that that part in of itself would not be covered, but would ford probably waive all warranty? Transmission, engine etc

FORD is not going to cover engine repairs when you slap on an aftermarket super-charger. Nope.

While a whipple supercharged 7.3 Super Duty sure would be fun to drive, I can only imagine the stresses that would put on the numerous drivetrain systems that Ford sure as hell isn't going to cover under warranty. That being said my pockets are not deep enough to cover R&R on a blown factory motor or transmission in a new truck. I have no doubt that someone will do it, they always do.

I pullied and tuned my Mustang Cobra for almost double the stock horsepower. I was well aware when I did those modifications that the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act relieved Ford from all warranty responsibilities on the drivetrain.

It is probably of significance that most of these experimental builds on the new 7.3 motors are being put in Fox body cars, not 8000 lb trucks.

Yup that's all part of the game man! Warranty not a concern to me and should not be for anyone doing these kind of mods.
