Suddenly getting 2-3 MPG increase after first regen.

Just went through the first regen. Beginning immediately after the computer shows an increase of about 2-3 MPG on the same routes.

Before the first regen it would show 15-16 into town and back, now shows 18-19. It’s like a switch was flipped. I could never achieve the MPG people here report, now it’s magically there.

Anyone else have this happen?

i track all my regens... and after a regen you will get better mpg until you go through another regen .... as they drop alot of fuel in the engine
before a regen i will be at 21 after a regen i will be at 18, and after a regen will work my way back up to 20 but can't get better then before regen.. as they drop so much fuel

Thanks, I just thought it was a weird that the first 600 miles was consistently 15-16, then regen, now 18-19. First diesel here, so learning curve in effect.

can use forscan to enable when it will happen , other has said they can do a manual regen as well

I was pleased on my last 250 mile trip going high speed and was getting 18 to 19 MPG. Hit regen and it spoiled the party dropped to 16. Hope it comes back up as fast as it went down.
