I was going to install the dually center light bar thing on the back of my truck, and planned on tapping into the license plate light wiring for power and ground. However, once I lowered my spare, I came across four seemingly spare hard shell connectors.

Of course that meant re-evaluating my plan. Maybe one of these hard shells would have a better power and ground to use than the license plate light. But, where do I find what these harnesses are, and they have to have an actual purpose, right?

The first one is right by the 7 pin trailer light harness:

Two others, a six and a two pin, are underneath the frame rail in the trailer receiver bracket:

The fourth one is just inside the drivers side frame rail, push pinned onto the receiver bracket:

So, does anyone have a reference for what these are? Stretching wire isn't fun, which looks like what would be required for the license plate light wires.

Thanks!

I believe the first two are for the in-bed 7way plug.

You may find the below vid handy showing a ford tech install the drw light

Great vid, mod harness no one will ever probably see, but it was good to see he made it look factory and not just git it done.

Oh wow, hell yeah! Thanks for that video link. That is awesome! New plan... Use that method! I just need to get a female pin for that hardshell he was showing.

Seriously, thanks.

Side note, looking at the Body Builders layout book, it looks like you can find/identify each of those spare hardshell connectors that I was inquiring about. However, I've abandoned that, since @hedge linked up that awesome video!
