I’ve installed a lot of bumpers on my trucks and for friends/family over the years. Always done it solo without the help of a lift or anything. I removed my SOB Fab rear swing out bumper this morning to take it to a local powder coater. I removed both swing arms, and still needed to use a crudely fashioned floor jack setup to assist me. That is one SOLID ass bumper. Very well thought out, and put together even better. I’m impressed.

Was that Fab rear swing out bumper a SOB to install?

Hint, Step 1, wait until the bumper is installed before mounting the 300 pound tire on the swing arm!🤣😂🤣😂

Well my local coating shop was a flop. SOB offered powder coating, which would’ve been ideal. However the added timeline wasnt going to work with my schedule, so I opted to pick up the bare steel bumper, and have it locally coated. To make a long story short I picked up the still bare bumper from the local coaster

after 3.5 weeks as I was leaving the next day to Oklahoma, and needed a bumper mounted. I ended up spray painting it in the garage that night, and mounting it the morning I left town. I’ll take it back off at some point this summer and have it properly powder coated for longevity. However it looks damn good IMO as it is. If the paint would hold up I wouldn’t have any issues leaving it as is.

This looks sharp. Do you think theyd be interested in making more?

From my emails back and fourth you would need to take your truck to them and about a 2 week turn around. It involves modifying the hitch. No easy way around it.
