Serius/XM radio source not selectable

Today I was driving down the road and the radio stops playing. I had been listening to Serius/XM when it stopped. I tried to change the station and got nothing. Tried so select a different source and all works, AM, FM, BT. Can't select Serius/XM. OK, maybe it just needs a reboot. When I got home, I disconnected the batteries for a bit. After reconnect, still nothing, and now the running boards don't extend. I used the menu on the dash and had to re-enable the running boards to get them to work. WTF.

I have not looked at FORSCAN to see Serius/XM settings yet.

Has anyone had or heard of this happening?

When you disconnected the batteries your caused you system settings to go to default settings, hence the running board issue. Regarding you XM reception, how long have you had the truck? Have you set up a permanent XM subscription? The trial subscription was only good for 90 days. Some have experienced extended trials but after 90 days it will drop out if no subscription is set up. The XM Travel link trial subscription is a five year term but does not include music and news channels.

When you disconnected the batteries your caused you system settings to go to default settings, hence the running board issue. Regarding you XM reception, how long have you had the truck? I have had the truck 1.5 months. I checked on the Serius/XM site, subscription won't expire until 07/16/2021. Even if it was the subscription it would let me select the source but only play channel 2.

That's a head scratcher. Have you called XM customer service. Doesn't sound like a problem with the truck as everything else on the infotainment is working. Can you still get XM travel link info? Thinking and typing.

Head scratcher is right. I just went out to check it again. It still wasn't working. I checked on the status to see if it was downloading an update and it just started working again. It does now say that it is downloading an update.

Oh, wait. I know what is wrong. SYNC is written by MICROSOFT. That explains it.

After my battery was disconnected several hours during some work I had done, everything was normal except Sirius. It was stuck on one station and the screen wouldn’t update which song played or let me change stations. I switched to FM and then mine behaved like yours, couldn’t select Sirius source again.

Truck was in a garage so signal was also obscured so maybe part of it?

I performed a factory reset of the Sync and it did not immediately work. Wouldn’t even let me choose the channel 1 preview that works on all radios regardless of subscription.

Two hours later it started working again on its own

Stopped by the dealership because my SiriusXm was frozen again. They are going to replace the API module. We’ll see if it work.

This happened when I did the latest SYNC update. SIRIUS was not selectable but everything else worked. Rebooted and been fine since. Starting to wonder what over the air updates are going on in the background. After the update it acted goofy for a couple days then no problems last three weeks

I wonder how the Sync 4 system will do. It's suppose to update over the air regularly. Hope it goes smoother than Sync 3.

No it did not help that. It did fix a couple other things.

Since the module was installed I realize there’s about three or four update so far that have happened yesterday and today when I scanned for updates. Maybe the issues with that module is not getting updates. There’s a few more that are happening now so I’ll test it later after everything is updated.

not for nothing, but Sync 3 is not codeveloped with Microsoft.
