Hey guys. Me and my dad went offroading today. It was very rainy here in the panhandle. So anyways we pull up to a long puddle, Does not look deep. I say send it, Dad is skeptical. We go through. First 10 feet water is at the hubs. But heres where it went wrong. At the last 5 feet the truck plunges and water is all the way of the hood. We got out. Did an inspection, Everything checks out. It was a bit groggy so we push 90 and still full throttle to get the water out of the airbox. We get home, Spray it off and when my dad locks it. The horn sounds like a 1930s cadillac. No idea if the connection is bad or what. HELP!

Yeah the horn has water in it, try drying it and if that doesn't fix it you need a new horn.

Always best to take water slow. It’s not as fun, but it’s more fun then having a hydro locked engine.
water in the air box is bad. Really bad. You’re lucky

put water in the horn ... i don't run horns on my jeep because they always have water in them

Probably water in the horn like others have stated, but a good rule of thumb, always walk an unfamiliar path containing water. A long stick could have prevented the unexpected plunge. Hope all checks out undamaged, at least y’all have a good memory together and a hell of a story to tell ???

If I got in up to the hubs with no clue as to what was ahead, well,
I would hope I would at least stop. I learned this inversely by nearly running aground in the Baltic Sea in the dark. Getting out to reconnoiter was not an option there.

It's always better to be lucky than good.

Hey y’all! Been afk for a while cause I switched schools. Thanks for the concern. Trucks fine. TREMOR ON!

Funny you say this, I was going to say that I would go check but I forgot my damn boots!

Go slow the first pass but after you confirm its a valid mud hole, then have fun the next few times around.
I’m glad we were going the speed we were though because any slower we would have been dead in the water.
