Hey Tremor fam, I got my truck stuck in the sand a mile off the highway near Hanksville, Utah tonight. Anybody live in the area and want to help get me out tomorrow?
And yes, I feel like a complete idiot. ?

If I were closer I’d be game.
I’ve seen Facebook groups in the past that are local/regional “off road recovery” groups/volunteerathat get a lot of hits and offers to help.

I’d look for you but I got off Facebook a long time ago.

You can try Matt’s Off Road Recovery out of Hurricane, UT if you can’t find anyone closer. If he can’t come he will know someone who can.
Please call Matt’s OffRoad Recovery, and if they are the ones who come for you let us know if you’ll be on YouTube! As far as I’m aware would be the first Tremor they’ve recovered. :D

Actually though, based on their videos they do amazing work.

While that would have redeemed my situation they were too far away. They recommended a closer place that was 4 hours away. Yikes.
I found a local guy who is going to help me today. I’ll try to get some photos and videos.

By any chance, did you air down the tires? I have been driving on the beach lately. The first day I aired down to 17 psi used 4x4 and locked the rear diff. No problems at all. The next week I aired down to 50 psi, 4x4, and locked rear diff. Still no problems.

A local guy named Dave picked me up at the hotel this morning and pulled me out. We hooked up his 12k winch to my front tow hooks. I used my tree saver strap and my soft shackles to connect his winch to both tow hooks at the same time. He had to pull me sideways and up over a deep sand dune. Once I had downhill momentum I was able to drive the rest of the way in 4H with the rear locked. I made sure to pick up at least 20mph of speed with each of the remaining dunes and let of the throttle and used my momentum to carry the truck over each of them. Once the guy taught me how to drive the sand it was actually quite a bit of fun. He had an old Ford dually that he said weighs about 12,000 pounds. After we dug out my wheels a bit he had no trouble pulling me over the dune. I’ll post pictures and Dave’s contact number if anyone ever gets stuck near Hanksville.

I was at 60 all around. The sand snuck up on me and I was buried before I realized what was happening.

Praise be to GOD. I know you are a man of FAITH. Never discount the power of prayer.
I’m glad you were pulled out. ??????????

Did you have those MaxTrax boards with you initially or after the fact? I have a set of Go Treads that fold up nice and neat that got me out of a jam in Moab.
I had them with me the whole time. The problem was that in the dark I didn’t realize how deep the sand was I drove into. By the time I realized, I already had sand to the frame. It was 9pm and I figured a night in a hotel would be better than spending hours digging in the dark.

Airing down below 60 would have helped, but the factory tires are so narrow, you might have got stuck further down the path. Glad to hear you found someone local to help!
