What are your thoughts on this? Looks like a pretty nice solution for folks who don't want to use the OEM winch (opting for something more universal).

Going to examine RC winch dimensions versuses other companies to see what *should* fit.

I just looked it up, it looks pretty nice. I just have to look into the quality of the winch.

Thanks for posting this. Ive been wanting a winch on my platinum but don't want to risk spending $2500 on the factory one (which has its fair share of problems from the posts on here), but also want to keep adaptive cruise control.

Definitely liked the idea that the Gorman one uses 3/8" thick steel in spots where this is all just 1/4". Not sure how much that will matter though.

I'll be doing research on this now

I really like this, after factory ordering my Superduty, I was kicking myself for not adding the factory winch. Now with hearing a number of issues, I’m happy I didn’t. One thing about this rough country mount, it doesn’t say the weight rating on it, but in the options for buying it’s paired with a 12000 lb winch so I would expect it should be rated for that. My other question is it specifically says it’s for 250, I have a 350 and on the website it said it wouldn’t fit, so not sure what that’s about.

If anyone can figure out what warn winch or other brand which would fit please post about it.

Looks like this is compatible with their 9500lb winch. Is that the only one? Maybe I'm misreading.
Where did you see that? I'm seeing this "It is designed to accommodate most winches on the market" and the only option I see from Rough County that includes a winch for this application includes their PRO12000S.

I would bet that they used an F-250 when creating and fitting the mount, and are just being extra cautious in saying that it won't fit a 350. Since they didn't try it themselves on a 350. We know that there is no difference where it matters.

I ordered one. I'll report back when I receive it. I called Rough Country and was told it's a "srandard" mount and pairs perfectly with their Pro 12k winch.
Do you have a 350? 6.7? Would like to know as that’s what I have.

Sounds strange to me a company like rough country wouldn’t have access to install it on a 350. It turns people off like myself when their site says it won’t work for my truck.

Intrigued. Price is right. Their hidden winch for the Bronco is very popular and people seem to like it. The Bronco kit allegedly works with Badlands and Warn EVO winches as well according to modders. Apparently there are fairlead compatibility issues as the RC fairlead is odd shaped.

It turns out this kit has been available for the F-150 for a long time. A lot of reviews and forum discussions about it. Seem generally positive.

Intriguing for sure.

@wheelin-amos did you just order the mount or also include the 12k winch?

I just received the hidden front hitch and will probably stay on that course... But this is worthy of consideration.

Metal looks too thin IMO.
This and the fact it's not welded. Maybe the ⅜ an welded one is overkill. For $200 it could be great but that stupid saying you get what you pay for echos in my head (not to say if it were double the price I'd be on board).
I can prove myself wrong with getting what you pay for: that badlands 12000# winch has been beat to death on YouTube. Coupled with this kit you'd have a concealed winch under $1k...

Intriguing for sure.

I was considering the hidden hitch as well with a winch carrier. Positives about that setup is it’s more versatile with being able to install anything you could find that fits a 2” receiver. Winch cradle and winch from front or back.
negatives I find putting that winch that far out, having to lift the cradle in and out, and last I checked (years ago) I had a hard time finding a cradle that was rated for 12000# let alone more if using a snatch block. Side loading the winch wouldn’t be ideal either (not that this kit above will work fantastic like that either, but better I’d assume) but it is certainly better then no winch that’s for sure.

If this kit works for me I think I will go for it.

I only ordered the mount. I *may* buy their winch but will probably try to go all in and use a Zeon 12k like I had on my Power Wagon. ;-)

Let us know how this works. I have no need for a winch but want one just incase. So the cost of other options had me forget about the possibility of getting one.

glad I saw this. Been looking for a way to get a Warn winch installed.

I have a Gorman kit still packeted up from them. Never even opened it. Ordered it and then a few days later ended up going aftermarket bumper anyway. I’m happy to part with it for $400 plus shipping. Should save some money over buying it from them (I think they charge $600 plus some shipping if I remember right)
