So, now that it is warmer and dry, I am getting ready to do a couple minor mods to my Tremor.
- Upfitter switch add in the relay for 2-Lo (there is a crazy campsite that wife's aunt and uncle own that we have to back up hill and curl into the sites - all gravel)
- Wire in so the side spots can be run at any time - not sure if I will just tap into the hot lead at the module or hook to an upfitter for feed
- Add a set of rear led's and run off switch 5 or 6 for ability to have constant power

Question on the lights - I am looking at mounting them to the bottom of the receiver since it is nice and flat. I have searched to see if that would lessen the strength/integrity of the receiver and find every answer/opinion as to "no, done it and has worked for years" to "you better not because it will weaken the receiver too much." Only use the truck to bumper pull or yard waste trailer and TT (TT is about 7200 loaded) and if we were to go any larger on a trailer, it will most likely be a 5'er. Would the 4 1/4-3/8" holes in the receiver frame lessen the integrity to a degree that one should be worried? Yes, I know this is all just info gathering and if I choose to do it, it is my own choice, just trying to gather opinions one way or another. Option is always there to get some flat bar and make brackets too.

Thanks - Erik

Below are some pics of how I mounted Mine.

I'm guessing that you fab'd those brackets? That looks nice and clean and the angle iron looks like it will provide great protection for the lights.
Yes I did Fab them but very easy to make, and that was my thought to have the added protection of the angle to keep the lights protected.

I think someone here mounted lights under the bumper. There are bolts under the edge that can be used to mount the brackets.View attachment 24113
Thanks, I saw those, but stupid me wanted to go with a flatter light, so that location won't work as the mounting holes will be about 7" apart. May just have to wait until they get here and then crawl under with one in hand and see what I can find.

You may not be up to it but it's just a bumper ... I have a set of Rigid Ignite diffused flush mount on back order I plan to mount into my rear bumper , if that's not enough I'll flush in a set of D series .
Edit : He's a link to a similar rigid light flushed in by a member and looks great !

I've looked at and thought of the flush mounts, but for some reason just haven't been able to get myself to cutting into the bumper of my truck. Yet, I had no problem disassembling most of the ass end of a Jeep Rengade to remove the rear bumper to cut out the opening to add a hitch....

Although, if I do it and f it up too bad, gives me an excuse to order the ADD bumper I've been eying ?

Lights showed today and decided to pick up some flat bar, probably 1.5 or 2" cut to length for the lights and then mount them to the two holes that hold the bumper covers on (same as where lights above were mounted)

Will post a pic when done.

Can you tell us the dimensions of the tubing and angle? I'd love more pics if you have any. This solves mounting problems on my Tremor and my Excursion.

I used 2.5” od square tube and 3” angle cut down even with the 2.5” square tube.
