Hoping you guys can help. I’m relocating my back up camera with a plug and play kit to my spare tire carrier.

Where do I “unplug” the factory camera. With tailgate down I see the line. But is the plug up in the tailgate, or back in body under the bed?

Appreciate the help.

Just want to pull the least amount of wire as possible and figured one of you has already tackled this.

There is another important consideration with this modification.

Is your truck equipped with

1.RPA Camera
2.RPA Camera and CHMSL Camera
3. UTTCS / PTBA

1 and 2 have analog video signals (wires)
3 has digital video signals (cables)

See Attachment

Thanks. Pretty sure just the RPA

Nothing like my wife’s BMW X7 that feels like I’m filming a reality show with all the cameras!

I am not absolutely certain, but think the wiring harness connector(s) is off the bed harness, but there might be a connection inside the tailgate. Maybe someone else has the complete info or consult Super Duty Truck Shop Service Repair Manual. I read a thread on the F150 forum about adding the CHMSL Camera.....and inevitably, someone later in the thread was removing their pickup box to install a flat bed (think it was a F250 or F350 owner) and needed to relocate the RPA Camera...that's when the analog / digital signal information came up. The digital video signals allow the "camera stitching" to enable the 360 degree overhead view on the UTTCS.

Have been looking at the Rigd hitch mounted spare tire carriers & they have this camera relocation kit, wonder if it’s comparable with the 360* camera
